Shirts like this are designed to sell as many units as possible,
not be a masterpiece of taste or appeal to the most loyal fans.
If you want to sell a lot, fewer colours and bland generally
works better. For example, one of the key tests is how the
shirt looks with jeans.
I'd expect that probably the majority of shirts don't go to
dedicated fans, so evoking the club's history is of little
interest to the designers. If you look at the shirt the only
thing that tells you it's Quins is the badge. Take the badge
off and it could be anyone, rugby or football.

Interestingly Tigers have just taken back their shop in-house
and sales have gone through the roof! The exact opposite of what
we have done!

It might also be prudent to go two or three sizes larger than
you normally wear.
I’m not suggesting that you will grow, more that based on recent
experience with the Double Champions shirts the sizing may be a
bit off.

I certainly won’t be wasting my money on that shirt. Worst one
ever, and there have been some bad ones!
