These pools are skewed by people giving players 5 out of 5 in
games like this.

No what I mean is it is a matter of opinion that someone thinks
an individual had a good game. Erroneous in your view or not.

I've cleaned that up a bit. As deadly says, I can't be sure
every "5" is just someone taking liberties, but there were a
number of duplicates there that I could remove. Initially I
thought it was genuine mistakes where people submitted the same
form, but the timing between some of them shows it's not that
innocent.
I could force people to use a gmail account to use this, and
then they'd only be allowed one submission per account, but I
don't really want to go that far.

I'm not talking about a good game Deadly. 5/5 must surely mean
outstanding or similar. Players who have outstanding games are
usually pretty obvious.

Why would posters want to skew the results. That really is
pretty sad.
I never used to know if my form had been submitted, so in the
early games of last season I suspect I might have submitted the
same form twice, but that would be obvious from the timing.
The want to deliberately give a player a higher or lower average
is pretty weird. Then again all you have to do is look at some
of the twitter fan pages and you'll see there are some
interesting people supporting Quins. One Charlie Walker fan
account tweeted him chastising him (jokingly) for not
remembering her birthday. Bizarre

I think there's a potential problem with how voters perceive the
nature of the poll. For instance, does everyone start at 3 and
have their performance rated against their own ability or is
there some notional yardstick where 3 is an average for a
premiership player in that position, so Robshaw may start as a 4
whereas Lambert may start as a 2 and then get rated up or down
from there.
DOK, perhaps you should get voters to rate a player's ability
from, say, 1 to 3, then rate their performance out 5. You could
then calculate their adjusted performance rating from the
natural logarithm of the square of the performance divided by
the natural logarithm of the square of their ability. This may
give a more accurate reflection of whether someone played like a
donkey. Or not
