Saracens - Away from home, reception?

Hi all,
Random question. Has anyone been to a match at any ground this
season where Sarries have been the away team?
After Bloodgate, it felt like there was regular chants/comments
(sometimes banter, sometimes not) about Quins cheating. This
went on for years.
With Sarries refusal to admit fault, keeping most of their
players and being admittedly brilliant so far this season,
intrigued to know if their fans have been unfairly
tarnished/abused by home fans at their matches.
Guess I'm just a bit curious ahead of their arrival at the Stoop
in a few weeks. Bit worried that whatever our views towards
them, a few more vocal Quins fans might turn the day in to an
unnecessarily hostile occasion.

Look back at the season where they where caught
A few gave the “ Players” some grief ie fake money etc, but
don’t think the supporters have ever been mistreated and I hope
that continues

The supporters were conned. The owners and to an extent, the
players were the con- artists.
So my mantra is compassion for the conned, contempt for the
con-artist.

I completely agree with you both, and hope it continues as is. I
just know there has been a rogue element slip in to the stands
over the past few years, and wouldn't be surprised to hear
horror stories.
I'm being pessimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few boo
them as they emerge from the tunnel in a few weeks. Again
though, I hope I'm wrong.

I don't see why they shouldn't be given grief frankly....
Cheated for years, not just one game.
I can remember some Sarries "fans" being particularly unpleasant
to my group, despite having small (toddler) kids with us after a
double header one year. That was several years after the event
that shall not be mentioned.

I don't go alone and won't sit away from the supporters groups.
Depending on the city I usually wear a coat to the stadium.

I think that most fans gripe is with the guys at the top who
were being very non-cooperative during the Salarygate saga (e.g.
refusing to open their books and taking the punishment instead).
I think that the Saracens fans are also victims and I feel
genuinely sorry for them.
Unfortunately though, there is no sense of closure over the
whole debacle. A "sorry" would have gone a long way. I also
suspect that there will be mistrust until there is a complete
change there at the top (i.e. no more involvement from Nigel and
his daughter).
But, back on subject, a few years ago I was in a random pub and
I had some Quins gear on (probably a Quins hoodie) and there
were a bunch of lads from Dublin in the pub. They were friendly
and we were chatting. But, one of their crowd at one point
noticed the Quins badge and he started going on about Bloodgate
and he wanted to start a fight with me. I am not at all
confrontational and along with his friends calmed down the
situation. I think that this sort of situation is very, very
rare - but, there is always a risk.

The only stadium or city I have felt uncomfortable in I am very
sad to say is Murrayfield in the last 10 years. The whole
atmosphere has changed in the last 10 years and even with
Scottish friends you now get abuse to the point of being bumped
around. Very very sad.
