Sanderson also believes his players will be motivated by a
desire to see off opponents who, on occasions, have been known
to rub a few people up the wrong way. “I’ve used it to
emotionally fuel teams in the past,” admits Sanderson. “They’re
brash sometimes and in your face. They celebrate at the
opposition and not to themselves; that’s just them. I don’t
think it’s a weakness of theirs, I think it empowers them but
it’s not how I go about it. It’s brilliant to have a contrast in
the game and I respect it but it’s not something I can align
myself with.”

Surely he was talking about his former employer and their team,
based on Hendon…… who were masters at rubbing up the opposition
in the way he talks…… maybe he’s developing dementia

I don’t mind coaches winding up and using mind games, it creates
characters, but at least point out our poor defense or something
true, he paints Quins as the team famous for clapping in
opponents faces when they have a unforced knock on… we all know
that’s Sarries.
We just celebrated hard and got up Sarries face when we beat
them as it was a huge game/rivalry to us.
Don’t remember us doing this to any other team.

More gaslighting from one of the guys responsible for turning
Saracens into the most unlikeable pack of arrogant gloating
cheats we've ever had in this league. Absolute nonsense from the
guy who responded to the salary cap cheating by claiming
everyone else was just jealous, and whose teams were notorious
for gloating in the faces of the opposition.
