There is no excuse for abusing the staff, and I hope the
idiot(s) get found out and banned.
With regards Laurie's comments, and general tone towards
supporters, and insistence that the club is always right, it is
       worrying.
He blamed the supporters for ticket fiasco in home game 1, and
even if he thought their messaging was crystal clear (clearly it
wasn't if that many people turned up with the wrong one), there
were numerous other ticketing issues that were the clubs fault
(ie my issue was despite chasing in August, early Sept, and mid
Sept, my sons new season ticket was never sent, even though they
said it had been, and unknown to me it was waiting at the ticket
office on the day of game - in those nightmare queues). I also
know of other individual ticket circumstances at the fist game.
He seems to have blamed supporter for turning up with 30 mins of
kick off on game 2. I am not sure what he expects to happen on a
Friday night game, they must have the data from previous
ones..... His comment on '13,000 wanting a drink in 15 mins' is
at best an exaggeration, but potentially trying to mislead (the
bars where packed all night - when they still had beer ::) -
and I for one never went or had a drink from the bars all night
       - I am sure there were plenty like me).
These communications reminds me of the Muster quarter final when
us supporters were told off for selling our tickets to Muster
fans, no I didn't, I was there supporting my team, yet get told
how disappointed the club were with me. Clearly that was
pre-Laurie days, but the communication doesn't seem to have got
       any better.
It would have been so easy for the club to say, after both
games, that they can see things went wrong (ticketing game one,
bar service and running out of beer game 2), and that they are
working to improve the experience for everyone. But instead we
get this finger pointing at the supporters.
To echo, this in no way relates to the abuse the bar staff
member got, in any circumstance, that is totally unacceptable.

Completely agree. There was no need to put any of that stuff in
at all, just say it won't be tolerated. One guy sounds off at
staff, don't put the rest of the supporters in a group with him
as if everyone is baying for blood because they didn't have the
       sense to turn up earlier.
Whilst I agree that 'abuse' is totally out of order, I'd
tentatively suggest that anyone who faints when being shouted at
behind a bar should maybe rethink their career options.
I won't comment further without knowing the details. Its quite
the trend for companies to play the abuse card whenever their
lack of customer service leads to complaints. Whether a rolling
of the eyes, a criticism of the job being done, or an all-out
tirade of expletives and threats constitutes said abuse is not
clear. The word always engenders outpourings of emotion though,
       so doubtless it will continue.

       The irony here is delicious.

However, whoever is in charge of editing at 'Quins email
marketing dept. needs to remember to re-read the ads before
sending out. I just received this - talking about seats in the
       coming months...

With a written message you’re always leaving yourself open to
some variation into how its taken and what parts people absorb.
But having re-read it a few times I can’t personally see that
Laurie is either blaming fans or declaring the club to be
       without fault.
My main take away from the message is not ‘club good, fans bad’
or even ‘don’t abuse our staff*’ but rather ‘if you witness
abuse of staff, please report it’.
*Because let’s face it, there’s little value in appealing
directly to the type of a$$h@ who would do this.

Well I turned up only a minute or so before kickoff last Friday,
which was embarrassingly lastminute.com. However, I had been
engaged in a serious and demanding investigation in both the
Sussex Arms and Twickenham Fine Ales.
