Yep, thought exactly the same, 21 points? Pffft! The boys will

Sore throats all round me tonight. We always cheered them on
after conceding tries, walking back to half way line. Shame the
length of the field try was called back for a forward pass, that
could have been tey of the season!
We will lose, but it won't be by not trying. Stay fit, stay
healthy, play our way, and we'll be in every game with a chance.

The person I feel most sorry for from tonight is Toby, an 11
year old Bears fan. He's raising money for his local hospice by
running 1 km for each point scored against the Bears, before
their next game. Pretty grim evening for him.
Good to see some Quins fans throwing a few quid in the hat.

Result never in doubt. Hindsight wise. When we scored to
equalise you could see the Bristol players looking like their
worst nightmare was happening again. They looked beaten already.
They never got near scoring a point in the second half. I hope
that when we play Saracens we can counteract their anti rugby
tactics and put 50 on them too.
Couple of points that don’t matter now but how many times are
you allowed to roll and still couldn’t see a grounding for one
of their tries. What was the “obstruction “ penalty for when
their player jumped into Lynagh.

Grats on the win, very well played. Not a lot else to say aside
from embarrassing second half from us. Lucky there's no
relegation this year as us at Bristol are in big trouble.

It was a much stronger performance from Bristol than in your
opening games, I thought. Your tries were well crafted and I
could only applaud some of the offloading and running lines.
This time last season, that first 25 would have been enough to
set up a bonus point win, and Quins would have gone into their
shells and collapsed.
But our trip to Ashton Gate taught this squad that they can win
from the unlikeliest of positions and they’ve got the skill and
the will to do it. We’ll find out next week if they can do it
against one of the more grinding teams, but I think Bristol
won’t be the last team to be on the receiving end of a
performance like that.

I think that what a lot of people on this board forget (or
perhaps don't understand maybe) is the massive amount of rugby
brain that Quins have now accumulated, both on the pitch and in
the backroom. Sitting in the South stand, I genuinely knew we
were going to win from the moment Lynagh went through for his
second try, just after half time. Whatever they had seen in the
first half and communicated to the players at the break had
clearly just allowed them to scythe a path through the Bristol
defence. From then it was just one way traffic, and as one of
the Bris fans said on here earlier in the week, they currently
have no plan B - bit like we were a few years ago.
This doesnt just happen; in Evans, Jones, Flannery and now
Matson, we have guys who understand what you need to do and how
you need play to effect change when the game is not going your
way. This, coupled with an absolute magician of a fly-half on
the pitch is always going to give you an edge, even if you are
20 odd points down at half time. This is why I think the only
teams we need to fear this year are teams with similar on/off
pitch "brain combinations". Borthwick/Ford for example, where I
think you will see Ford rejuvenated by a coach who actually
understands how to use him properly.
Trust the brains trust!
(This is also the reason why I personally think Bath will remain
rubbish for the rest of the season even though they have some
absolutely wonderful players)

Agreed. Of all the sides we will play this year, we might lose,
but I can see the most challenge coming from the style of play
from Leicester, Saracens and maybe Sale.

What stunning performance from the team. It doesn’t really make
sense, you don’t come back from deficits like that in the
premiership with such ease. Feel it is a bit sly on Tommy Allen
with the turnaround happening with him going off as still
thought he looked good whilst he was on.
As a number of people have said, I still thought we were well in
the game 21-0 down which is just crazy to think. Smith and
Dommers will rightly get their plaudits, but I thought Murley
had his best performance in the quarters last night. We know how
good he is defensively, but he looked so electric in attack last
night and that is something which weve seen in flashes but not
in a consistent 80 minute performance. Also big Andre has huge
moments, setting up the first try at the end of the first half
and won a number of crucial turnovers.
I’m fascinated to see how we try to continue with this style of
play moving into winter and the poorer conditions. Sale, Bath
and Sarries up next with huge packs will be big tests but I
think we can run them off the park. but as it’s dries up going
into the business end of the season, we’ll be a very hard team
to stop
