I don’t look back at Quins as a failure.

"I’m happy for the (Harlequins) coaching staff, happy for a lot
of the support staff, happy for a lot of the players." Not all
then?

If indeed he decided to 'sound out the market' after 2 years and
didn't want to commit to his project by signing the extension
then I'm glad we gave him the boot!
Although I don't believe for a second that he came to the
conclusion he'd rather be coaching in Italy! More like he was
given the boot and then it was the only coaching gig he could
get.
For someone who doesn't feel the need to keep talking about it,
he does an awful lot of talking about it.

It’s not the first time he’s made comments of that nature - He’s
obviously got bad blood with a reasonable minority of the
playing/coaching staff.

From reading the article, he didn’t say anything that bad IMO.
I imagine it would be pretty embarrassing to see the exact same
group of players so successful without you, so I’m not surprised
he’s bitter.

So he didn’t get sacked, he decided to decline the offer to
extend his contract. Why would you be bitter about making your
own decision.

Surely we can agree that he AND the coaching team moved us
forward in his time with us, and that a number of the current
squad are a result of shrewd recruitment.
Unfortunately there were clearly issues between him and some of
the players, you only have a look at their faces then and now to
see that they like us as supporters they weren’t enjoying the
game plan, BUT change is always difficult and causes resistance,
but without change we wouldn’t have moved forward.
I personally appreciate what he did and any contribution he had
in developing our coaching team which went on to develop through
change our exciting game plan.
It’s just a shame that the press keep trying to stir up the
pot…..it’s not news it’s history.
Let’s all move on the enjoy the future

I do.
(But the good news is that it doesn't matter a jot what I think
- or much more importantly what you think!)

The Benetton website has only a few words on his time with us:

position he held until a few months ago, before his split with
the Quins.
