I think that other teams have caught up, there has been a lot of
players moving clubs maybe due to salary cap increases and
bigger investment in the women’s game by the prem clubs.

Agree that it's more to do with the other womens sides catching
up, the ladies will hit their straps in a few weeks and we'll
see a more dominant game from them.
Glad the men weren't playing yesterday, reminds me of a game
against Tigers at the Stoop in 06 when it finished 9-15, all
penalties and lashed down the whole game. At one point, it was
just me and my Tigers mate sat in the, then uncovered, South
Stand trying to keep the rain out of the Guinness!

Ringfencing is the plan.
But the ringfencing is due to be 14 teams and so this odd year
awaits the winners of the Championship.
Once there are 14 teams, the Premiership will be ringfenced for
2 (or 3?) years after which there will playoffs between the top
of the Championship and the bottom of the Premiership for that
14th place.
