Team's Not Up

Of course it isn't.
But I just wanted to acknowledge how weird these bye weeks feel.
With the flurry of discussion around the weekend's games, it's a
bit like all the other rugby fans are having a party and we're
not invited. Even though we know the party will be much less fun
without us, being "left out" is an odd feeling.

MULLEN MAKES FOUR CHANGES TO THE STARTING XV FROM EXETER CHIEFS
DEFEAT
Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen has named his matchday
squad to visit Gloucester-Hartpury this Saturday.
Mullen makes four changes to the starting XV that was defeated
by Exeter Chiefs a fortnight ago. Rosie Dobson makes her first
start of the season while there are three changes to the
backline as Ella Amory, Beth Blacklock and Heather Cowell all
start.
With wing Heather Cowell returning from a successful stint with
GB’s over in Canada, Red Roses star Ellie Kildunne returns to
her favourable position of fullback as she returns to her old
stomping ground.
Fellow England international Jess Breach also returns to the
matchday squad after a long injury lay-off.
Speaking ahead of the game, Gerard Mullen wants his side to be
clinical and get back to winning ways.
Mullen said: “It’s never an easy game when you play
Gloucester-Hartpury especially away from home and after a loss.
There’s no doubt that they will come out the blocks firing
looking to score early points, so we have to be alert and at our
best from minute one.
“We welcome back Sarah Bonar into the matchday squad after her
success with Scotland over the weekend. Unfortunately, Jade
(Konkel) won’t be available for Saturday’s game, but I feel we
have selected a strong side which is capable of bringing home
the win.”

Yes, agreed. Although all but one of the other 12 teams in the
league missed out on the 26 June party.

Yep, don't like bye weeks at all. If they want to ringfence then
just get on with it and stop pretending that's not the plan

"Red Roses star Ellie Kildunne returns to her favourable
position of fullback" ...?
What, pray tell, is an unfavourable position? Prop?

Quite agree PF. Think how good it's going to be next Friday,
though! Back at the Stoop, on a Friday night, under the lights,
against Briz!!! Boy oh boy, that will be fun!!!

Given the weather, probably not a bad weekend for a bye!

Made hard work of beating Gloucester with a winning try in the
78th minute.

Quins Ladies are looking a little off the boil this year (or,
more realistically, other women’s rugby programmes have started
to catch up). I hope they can rise to the challenge.
On the men’s side, I agree it was a good weekend for Quins not
to be playing. A lot of stodgy, wet weather rugby. Leicester and
Sarries was a game right out of the late 80s with two huge
defensive performances and a lot of errors. They’re clearly
going to be tough opponents but I’d have some confidence that we
can grit it out up front and find a way to exploit their
defensive systems.
