Care to explain this non-sequitur?

travelled from Belgium to Greece and back over the summer via
Germany, Austria and Italy. Needed to show the vaccination
certificate to cross borders, check in to hotels, go to bars and
restaurants (different rules on each country but vaccination
certificates and apps in EU member states are all
interoperable). Takes about 5 seconds to show the QR code and
same again if it is verified by the other person. As a result,
didn't need to take a single COVID test. I know France and the
Netherlands also have the requirement. All have much lower COVID
infection and death rates than the UK. Maybe indeed it's
Scotland in the mainstream and England the outlier...

Just got back from watching a 7 day bike race in Brittany and,
even though it was one of the smaller races, you could only get
in to the start or finish area by showing your vaccination
status via the QR Code on your phone which just takes a few
seconds and certainly made me feel more secure.
Masks still have to worn in all shops and public transport and I
have no doubt that these rules will apply in the UK as we
approach winter.
This season was the first time for 12 years that we haven't
renewed our STs as neither of us want to take the risk of being
in a large crowd in a stadium.
We've followed all the advice to date and managed to avoid
catching Covid and want to do everything we can do to keep it
that way.

Who is ALL?

UK is a way down the list. What exactly are you claiming?

Current case rates per million of the countries I mentioned
(Belgium, France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece)
plus the UK.

UK rate is currently 2.5 x greater than the next on the list
(Austria).

Lies, damn lies and statistics.....
Figures can be presented to show almost anything depending what
data set you look at, what time frame you select the data
over....
It is here, it isn't going away, unless you want "normal" life
sacrificed on the altar of zero covid (which is basically
impossible now) we just need to get on with it. I am distinctly
unhappy with the idea of "papers please" everywhere. It smacks
of fascist state control.

I don’t think you need to worry, Rocker - our current government
isn’t competent enough to run a fascist state.

Scottish schools went back several weeks before the rest of the
UK and the higher numbers reflect that. They are now starting to
fall while English numbers, although not rising appreciably
(although they are in 11-15 year olds) they are not going down.
Across the U.K. W e still have nearly 7000 people in hospital
with COVID and still 650+ admitted each day. There's over 800
people in ICU ventilated or close to it. We also have about 1000
deaths a week. So whether we want normality or not there's still
a way to go before we don't have to take some precautions.
Vaccination works, and is no doubt the reason the UK's current
mortality is lower than it couldn't be given the level of
infection.
The risk in England is the rise in infection in teenagers and
young people will be reflected over the coming weeks as more
infections, hospital admissions and deaths. Remember two
important impacts, even we accept 150 deaths a day as an
acceptable price for a degree of normality, is each of those
7000 patients in hopsital means that 7000 patients with other
conditions are notbeing treated. Also recent research has shown
1 in 3 patients with COVID develop some symptoms of long COVID.
Another impact on the healthcare system and a major impact on
thousands of people's health.

I don't think our current government would be capable of running
a bath although they would tell you they had done so but it
would of course be empty.
And for political balance the opposition wouldn't be able to
agree amongst themselves what a bath is.
