Yes, it was pretty satisfying to watch. I did think we had a
couple of near misses though, in addition to the lapses
mentioned. But it was a good start. Maybe we'll have a
reasonable feel for where we are after the Bristol and Sale
games (Rnds 4/5) - two teams that are hard to handle, for
different reasons.

two, one was an intercept (not a defence issue) and the other a
worldie break. I thought we actually handled their power pretty
well and controlled them pretty well.

Murley was guarding too much space - if he'd drifted further
out, he'd have ended up giving Radwan his inside shoulder rather
than his outside shoulder and Radwan and his stepping machine
would have gone inside him and Green wouldn't have been able to
get him: I think just credit Radders/Falcons with a very good
try...

Fantastic start to the new season. Bonus point win while Exeter
and Bristol stumble. Yes there are things to work on, but we can
do that with done points in the bag.

I don't think it will only be our defence that Radwan terrorises
this season. The guy is very quick and their other wing was no
slow coach either! I think with Brown they will score bucket
loads this year and be a serious team to reckon with

and silly turnovers that Quins need to tighten up on. The former
was probably inevitable with a brand new hooker and no
recognised lineout caller in the pack; the silly stuff may be
harder to shake.

My biggest concern was lineout defence as we seemed to split
into two groups with a gap in the middle allowing their quick
drive through the middle. On our ball JW seemed to improve after
a shaky start so I'll wait and see for a bit.

Most teams looked rusty in week 1. We got the job done with a BP
win. Definitely pleasing and we will improve more once
everything settles down a bit. Anyone moaning about yesterday
needs to take a reality check.

The lineout at the a start was poor but got better as the game
wore on. I thought Keningham was excellent as a jumper, he gets
so high.
Our defence and lineout defence should improve when we have our
first team pack out. We were missing Marler, Louw, Lewies,
Chisholm for our run on first team.
Great away win against a good Newcastle team, who if they had a
decent kicker would have been closer to Quins.

Is it possible to have a tight defence and score tries like we
do? I don't believe it is as if the defence tightens up you have
to lose some of the risk taking and flair, our team is built to
score tries not stop them. I think we have to accept that we are
fortunate to watch entertaining rugby, but have to put up with
conceding tries and inevitably losing games because of it.

Excellent result.
Very happy with a bonus point win at Newcastle. We haven't won
there at all for an age so a BP win in the first week of the
season is something to be happy with. Radwan is a very fine
player, he will score a bucket load of tries against all teams
this season. The other winger was no such either.

And yet, curiously, only one winger scored two tries in that
match... Radwan is a very decent player, but Lynagh seems to
have the priceless ability to be in the right place at the right
time.
