It’s walkers first game so I think he will need a few to really
have a proper analysis of him. Hopefully JF gets him up to
speed. Personally, I feel Baldwin set the bar high last season
as it was his improved form which turned one of historically our
crappest areas, to a strength.

And people on here spent months saying Baldwin was rubbish when
he first arrived. Took him a while and then best hooker in the
league. Already seen people digging out Walker! It’s pathetic.

Grinding out a nice win away at Newcastle and the bonus point
makes good start.
I trust the coach back home will be a very happy trip and few
sherberts too.
Well done Allen on his first game and MOTM :D

Not me, I said at the start of the season that he is bang
average. Nothing I saw today said anything else.
I hope Riley takes the starting spot and makes it his own. He
has huge potential.

Excellent away win up north to start the season off. A bit
rusty, lots of new players, second choice players and a new fly
half who got MOM. All good as far as I’m concerned, it’s only
the usual suspects being harshly critical.

it didn't take long for Quinten Tarrentino's Usual Suspects to
come out...
It's funny - in the semi and final, we shipped 11 tries - not
normally a stat that propels you to and wins the final, but
having scored 13 in reply - 1 more than either of the opponents,
we did.
So today, with the team we put out, we win 4 tries to 3 with a
TBP...
...with a team missing the front row (Marler, Louw and Baldwin),
half the second row (Lewies), one of the replacement back rows
(Chishom) and the fly half (Smith) that marshalled both wins,
and two other players who arguable got us to the play offs,
Brown and Evans.
In exactly the same fashion as we won the semi and the final:
what more do you want!
Most of the newbies bedded in, some better than others, but to
start the season with an away TBP win is a good start. Yes - our
defence needs improving and we need to stop missing tackles.
It is evident that some of our supporters want us to be Saracens
or Exeter, not Quins.
I'm happy this evening - and I hope to be happier next Saturday
with an improved performance, granted, but TM™ needs some time
to bed in and hopefully he'll make our team improve.
The Stoop wasn't built in a day.

After a few more games the numbers will probably do the talking.
It will become clear what we need to work on. If we can tighten
the defence without losing any attacking prowess then that would
be great.

I didn’t actually think our defence was that bad today….
One try was poor from Murley definitely. But with the other two,
one was an intercept (not a defence issue) and the other a
worldie break. I thought we actually handled their power pretty
well and controlled them pretty well.
