I was watching the game and then woke up after missing 78
minutes. Did I miss anything?

Bristol were poor (played like a team that hadn't played any
pre-season friendlies), but fair play Sarries for turning up
with a good game plan.
Could've done without BT drooling over them though and treating
them like a golden child.
BT also said about Sarries losing lots of stars following
relegation. That's what annoys me. I asked a Sarries mate and he
named: Liam Williams, Rhodes, Spencer, Skelton, Barrett,
Wigglesworth. Doesn't scream "clear out" to me...
For my side regarding their "punishment".
1. I feel for the fans, although even my closest Sarries mates
still seem reticient to admit their team did anything wrong...
[and before anyone tries to dig up Quins biggest cheating
moment, I think all of us would admit that the club was wrong in
that infamous Leinster match. It's called humility and admitting
faults].
2. It is all done and dusted and we probably should let it go. I
always cheered for whoever was playing Sarries when they were
winning previously, now is no different.
3. The people I think have come out of all this the worst are
the players who didn't go on loan. Whatever we think of him, a
season in a decent competition and Farrell would've played more
part in the Lions series. Same goes for Jamie George.
4. Earl & Malins should've stayed at Bristol... Although as long
as they get game time now, it's a good thing for England.

But then they had no pre season matches apparently.......
Sarries are still a bunch of cheats....

You have to give Sarries and the coaches and lot of credit for
the game last night.
Without Super Maro, Mako, Daly, Goode, george, Farrell etc...
That was some performance, reminded me of the way South Africa
bored everyone to death against the lions this summer.
I think that Bristol looked one paced and got beaten up in the
scrum. They had their third choice tighthead and we're missing
the grunt of Atwood. I thought he would have gotten on earlier.
Also they look like they need a decent inside centre. They
missed A Piatau last night. Radrara is a great player but they
got squeezed last night. Going to be interesting to see how
Bristol bounce back.

Bristol just looked devoid of ideas. It was very, very dull....
For all the gushing in the media about Quins and their style of
play that was basically anti-rugby from Sarries. I haven't
missed that in the premiership.

Yep, that was a tedious game. I'd been looking forward to the
return of rugby, but 88 kicks? Really?
I know that the point of the 50:22 is to create space in the
defensive line for more attacking rugby, but there wasn't much
sign of that yesterday.
Obviously, we need to give it time, but the very earliest
indications weren't great.
No goal line dropouts either, unless any happened in the 10
minutes or so I dozed off.

Really a very dull game of rugby. Bristol looked poor, and I
think their squad this year seems lighter than last. I wonder if
they'll be top 6 rather than top 2.
Saracens on the other hand, at their stifling and clinical best
with lots of players missing. Good game plan, took their
chances, and look like they'll be a nuisance again.
I do hope though that isn't how the season will play out. Very
dreary.
