Owen Slot with AD and DC

Talking to Alex who admits he has watched final through several
times considers his half time try (is he talking Bristol) key.
Quins 5th favourite for this season They prevailing view of
Quins is this ‘surely they can’t get away with it again. Their
all-court attacking game is going to be found out’.” Ie same
prevailing view as in the heady final weeks of the season.
Can it work again. DC answers’we don’t know’ ‘ No one thought we
could do it we thought we would just give it a go. We know we
have to better defensively and concede fewer tries. We do know
that. What I am really proud of is the way we won it our way. We
proved that you don’t have to be ultra defensive, line speed,
kick pressure type teams. We felt we could out score teams. It’s
about adapting and getting better. There are lots of things to
improve on but we are going to continue to play rugby and what
suits us with a smile on our face.
Alex ‘ we need to relish (the target on our back) and stay one
step ahead of our opponents’.
Care thinks after 2012 they stood still both on and off the
field. As youngsters we did not realize how hard it was to win
it. This year we know we have to adapt, change and evolve. All
the squad understands and is hungry
DC says the gobby youngsters make training very competitive. The
best thing is they have no fear just want to have a go and see
what happens.
Sounds like no change standby for the roller coaster - but could
we beat Falcons first please!

From the Times.
Today in Sunday Times the one and only Stephen Jones is
predicting 6th for us. His mate Alex Sanderson for 1st and
unbelievably he is demoting Sarries for 5th. Has his Sarries
connection moved on?🤣

Haha. Stephen Jones....
The guy who said Rob Kearney and Juan Martin Hernandez were in
his all time best world XV.
Bloke's stealing a living.

Absoloutely. His standard of journalism continues to be
dreadful. Rugby is a real weak point at The Times.

As much as I am no fan of Stephen Jones and his writing in
general, I think when it comes to a best world XV it depends
what your criteria are. If you are picking players based on them
playing on their absolutely best day then I have no problem with
Juan Martin Hernandez being in there as there was a period of 2
years when he was in my opinion the best player in the world
when on form, his biggest issue was that he was quite erratic
and therefore not regularly on form. So obviously if you are
picking players best on sustained performances and success then
I wouldn't pick him.
Kearney though is a strange selection using either criteria
???.

In general TBH … very little quality journalism when it comes to
rugby.
Several are dinosaurs like Jones and a lot of them are generic
sports writers who aren’t specialised in rugby and don’t have a
good base of knowledge. They’re often just regurgitating what
someone else has said regardless of how accurate it is.

He's back to "journalism" now is he? I thought he'd given it up
to join The Cheats PR department.
