SQUAD NAMED FOR LEINSTER FRIENDLY
Thursday, 9th September 2021 @ 12:00
MATCH KICKS OFF AT 19:00 ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND WILL BE STREAMED ON
OUR FACEBOOK AND YOUTUBE CHANNELS
Harlequins have named their squad to face Leinster at the Aviva
Stadium on Friday night.
Star trio Alex Dombrandt, Danny Care and Joe Marchant return to
the starting XV after missing the impressive 45-33 win over
Cardiff Rugby.
Care will start alongside new fly-half Tommy Allan, who came off
the bench last weekend to inspire a comeback victory.
South African powerhouse Andre Esterhuizen scored in the Cardiff
win and starts at 12 alongside Luke Northmore, another second
half scorer last weekend.

Marchant, Louis Lynagh and Tyrone Green will complete the back
three.
In the forwards, new signing Jack Walker gets his first start at
hooker alongside props Santiago Garcia Botta and Simon Kerrod.
Hugh Tizard and Dino Lamb link up in a youthful second row with
Tom Lawday and Jack Kenningham, scorers against Cardiff, teaming
up with Dombrandt in the back row.
For the second week running, Harlequins have named an expanded
bench with players getting a final chance to impress Tabai
Matson ahead of next weekend's Premiership opener at Newcastle.
The friendly, which kicks off at 19:00, will be stream live on
the Harlequins Facebook and YouTube channels.

Should be a great game to watch. I’d argue 7 to 15 are probably
the current starters for the first game of the season so will be
interesting to see how they perform.

A bit worrying that Marler, Lewies, Symons and James Chisholm
won’t have been involved in either game.

I’m not so worried about Marler - he was late back to camp
because of paternity leave, and I doubt that pre-season game
time will make much odds to his performances. A bit surprised we
haven’t seen the others, though, given how many have been given
a run out.
Given that the pack is relatively stable (whereas the backs have
to have a chance to play with Allan), I suppose it’s possible
that the coaches know where those four are in their preparation
and don’t feel the need to give them a game ahead of the season.
Would be nice to have a proper update, though.

I’m not sure any of us are TBH!
Definitely seen Els in training shots so surprised he’s not been
involved.

Stephan Levies was in the DHL stand last Saturday not in Quins
gear but towering above us all. Not sure but think with friends.

Honkytonk - the new BR chap = Viliami Taulani.
Will be looking forward to seeing him in the Quarters. Also I'm
a little disappointed at no Jack Musk at hooker. I think he's a
year ahead of George Head but perhaps it is inevitable some of
the guys will pick up pre-season niggles etc. I think Musk has
done a loan stint at Richmond but after that performance against
Clemont a while ago I am hoping this will be his breakthrough
season, especially with Baldwin and Elia moving on.
