It's either been held on a weekend or on one of the two BH days
following Christmas/Boxing Day happening at a weekend, never
later than a Tuesday. If you look at the list I posted earlier,
the logic is fairly simple to deduce:
1. Is Christmas on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday? Game is
held on the following Saturday
2. Is Christmas on Friday? Game is held on the Sunday.
3. Is Christmas on Saturday? Game is held on Monday BH
4. Is Christmas on Sunday? Game is held on Tuesday BH
The club won't hold the game on a weekday that isn't a BH as
that would impact on the attendance & make it harder on
transport etc. It's *always* at least the 27th (most likely for
the reasons I gave earlier re partners). It only moves later
when it's held on a weekend.

At the moment the fixture list is showing the closest home game
to Christmas as being Boxing Day vs Saints.
The problem with moving it to 27th is that our subsequent
fixture is shown as 31/12 away at Gloucester. A 4 day turnaround
would mean essentially having completely different squads for
the two games (unless Kenningham feels like cementing his
"future Quins hall of famer" tag by playing 160 minutes in a
week like a certain CD Robshaw once did).
So either they have to negotiate to move both fixtures (which
might be doable - both Saints and Glaws are listing the second
weekend as "Weekend of 1st January" and Saints have the BG
fixture as "Weekend of 26 December"), or be prepared to put up
two squads - which I think is doable with the depth we now have,
but not if we are facing into injuries.
Do we reckon that, say, Els Musk Collier / Tizard Hammond /
White Kenningham Lawday / Steele Allan / Jones Northmore /
Morris Chisholm David might be enough to see Glaws off?

There is a pic somewhere of the big events at Twickenham and
they have 27th December down as "Harlequins Big Game"

poofour, it's worth checking the Premiership Fixture list rather
than the Club one. That shows BG as all the clubs playing
26/27th dec (some like Leicester like Boxing Day fixtures), and
the following round as 31st/1st/2nd. So every club is going to
have a shorter than usual turnaround time, but I would expect
the clubs that play on the 27th to get fixtures on 1st/2nd
rather than 31st Dec.

I think they've added that since.

That must have been added since the email was sent because why
on earth wouldn't you have that date very clearly added into the
body of the email before sending.

Probably my e mail received at 10.01 had especially written FAQ
for me that weren’t sent to you to see if I was paying
attention! I must admit I did not read until this pm.

Waiting at the bus stop across from Twickenham station, there's
a big poster outlining the dates when buses will be diverted due
to events at The Big Stoop. December 27th is on the board as
Harlequins Big Game.

SWR never have engineering works on, the works are organised by
Network Rail. Also for 15+ years the network has been totally
shut down on 25th and 26th. There is always vital work that
needs doing that can’t be done when there are trains moving
about.
