Disabling javascript makes no difference in Firefox for me. I
also use a firewall avoider which has the stupid effect of
making the D. Tel. text colour exactly the same as the
background so I then I have to copy and paste the articles into
some other place if I want to read them. Same thing happens when
DOK posts them to that archive site.

Curiously it turns out that although Chrome cuts the www off the
front of the URL when it displays it, and doesn't require you to
type it in to get to the page either, it does require you to
include the www when you enter the URL into the javascript
exception settings...

Having now been able to read the article, I'm left wondering if
you and I read the same one? It seemed a reasonable, balanced
piece to me?
Having said that, I don't bear any grudge towards Sarries. In
breaking the salary cap, they were only doing what they, we and
Irish should be allowed to do anyway to address the unfair
advantage afforded the Midlands and Northern clubs as the result
of having the same salary cap without regard for local costs of
living.

I do bear a big grudge towards Sarries. It is not about what
they "should be allowed to do".
The salary cap was agreed between the Premiership clubs.
Saracens and Wray had a voice in that.
Saracens broke it, and lawyered up to avoid punishment.
They negotiated a new salary framework.
They broke it again, systematically and over the course of
multiple seasons.
They were caught, refused to come completely clean and were
relegated for it.
Over the course of a decade they systematically gave themselves
an unfair advantage over the peers with whom they had negotiated
the salary rules. How many titles did Exeter or Leinster lose
because of it? Did Quins miss out on a Final because Saracens
could field a bench that we couldn't match? How many clubs saw
less success because of their cheating, and what did it cost
them in fans and revenue?
What they did was bad for rugby, and in bad faith towards the
other club owners. They deserved what they got, and more.
It's several days since I read the article, but it didn't strike
me as balanced at all. Maybe it's in the tone, but I would have
hoped for less about how cleverly they've managed it and how
they've kept the first team together, and more about the
experience they've lost from the squad and what that might mean
for their competitiveness.
There seems to be a determination in the press to play down what
they did and brush it under the carpet. It's understandable,
because the complex narrative of financial shenanigans and the
hurt it did to a dozen other clubs is a harder story to sell
than "oooh, look at all their talent."

So you are actually saying that if another London team wilfully
broke the salary cap this year and beat a Quins team (who had
played by the rules agreed by *every* team and stuck to the cap)
in the GP final this season, that is just tough luck to us fans
and to the Quins players who'd have slogged their guts out all
season? Wow.

I'm more saying that Quins should never have been so stupid and
naive as to agree to a salary cap that gave such a big advantage
to so many of their opponents.

It's not really much of an advantage. Yeah, cost of living is
higher, but plenty of Quins players don't live in London itself,
a professional rugby wage is a good amount, the draw of being
in/near London is a big benefit when trying to attract players,
and there's no sign that clubs in cheaper areas find it easier
to attract big names.

I agree on Overseas players but Exeter and the West Country
including Bath is a big draw for British players particularly
mid way through and later in their careers when they are
starting families.
