They weren't in the Boks' Lions Test squad, so it seems unlikely
unless there are injuries. It says something about the Boks'
strength in depth that they can afford to leave out players of
that quality - in two positions where England are, respectively,
light and still waiting for a replacement for Will Greenwood.

You mean they don't have an Owen Farrell & Elliott Daly combo
waiting in the wings??????
Just click bait i'm sure, no one outside of the quarters was
bemoaning their lack of inclusion before the Lions series so
just feels a bit meh now. Unless they want to rest the first
team now that the main job is done?

I was asking as I thought they may be on some kind of stand by/
travelling reserve squad?? With Covid and travel issues, I
wondered if SA named a larger squad to compensate for possible
quarantine/isolation issues etc that may crop up.

There was a larger squad and a couple of guys have been caked up
from it (Dan du Preez for example) but I think it’s to cover
injuries.

Sure will.
Even the AB are taking 36 players & currently you don't have to
quarantine going NZ to OZ. I expect the squad to increase if the
SA games are transferred to OZ. If the happens (I think it will)
& with the final SA game scheduled for 2/10 & playing USA on
23/10, then the ABs will go directly to USA/Europe as otherwise
would need to do 2 weeks in NZ quarantine - now on tour for 3
1/2 months.
Like wise for the Boks as the RC schedule has been pushed out to
allow for the Boks & Argentina to quarantine upon arriving in
OZ.
This is foreseeable future if you're recruiting overseas
international players from the RC teams. If your SA players are
in their extended playing group of 40-45 don't expect to see
then until Dec.
Springboks schedule
Rugby Championship
August 14: Argentina, Gqeberha
August 21: Argentina, Gqeberha
September 12: Australia, Sydney
September 18: Australia, Brisbane
September 25: New Zealand, Dunedin
October 2: New Zealand, Auckland
End of year tour
November 6: Wales, Cardiff
November 13: Scotland, Edinburgh
November 20: England, London
Just after posting this I see SA has just announced a 43 squad
fro the RC
- Wilco in
- Andre misses out.

Sorry Honkytonk, wasn't denigrating your post, just (naively)
assumed you'd seen it on a site somewhere.
Now it's been verified by Muzza that Wilco is in. That's a
problem for us.
