I mentioned Lewies as someone who can cover in a pinch. Wallace
yeah, true - though I think we'd only want to play him at 7
these days!

4 senior hookers plus Riley (who I assume is still in the
academy) is not that many.

Trenholm was signed into the academy as a number 8 but I think
he mentioned he’s now seeing himself as a 7. Potentially a bit
too small to make an impact at 8 which has prompted the change.

Unlikely especially considering George Head only recently
converted to Hooker from Loosehead

In that case we are obviously short and I’m the answer. Was a
good thrower and scrummager. Just can’t physically move at more
than a walking pace any more. Where do I sign?

I’m pretty comfortable with where we are with our back row. The
combination of Kenningham stepping up so seamlessly and the
Return of Wallace, bringing both club and wider experience,
closed most of our gaps there for me. In addition to the options
already mentioned; Dino Lamb covers 8 (though I’d prefer we
didn’t disrupt his progress in the second row) and Makeen
Alikhan in the Academy is an out-and-out 8 (and in time may be
the additional ball carrier folks are looking for).
I wouldn’t be keen on bringing in a Parisse/Montera type signing
tbh. They rarely work out as hoped and if we were going to do it
then the season just gone would have been the time, to bridge
the gap left by Robshaw. I don’t think we need it now.

Matas Jurevicius
Played at Lock for London Scottish but we (According to PG) see
him as a Back Row. That could have changed but he came on
against Ulster in the BR. Over 18 stone so he adds a bit of
weight if Dombrandt and Chisholm are missing.
Also have Will Trenholm who is an 8 (I think) and Makeen Alikhan
(who looks a more Evans type 7). I think Alikhan is a USA U20
int

I think Alikhan was selected for the USA u20s but the games
weren’t played due to COVID? Also I should probably clarify that
him being an ‘out-and-out’ 8 is just my view of how he’d fit
into Quins playing style and where he ended up for the u18s. As
honkytonk mentions he has played 7 at least as much as 8.
