Randall wasn’t one of the 3 nominees for the England rugby
player of the match @quintron so guess again as to who you
nominated

Meaningless. See Joe Launchbury’s man of the match award for
England vs Australia in the 2015 RWC

The shocker of... one error with ball in hand (turned over while
isolated) and some missed kicks at goal? To go with excellent
tactical kicking, rapid distribution, a pinpoint kick-off for
England's first try, a lovely delayed pass for Cokanasiga's try,
a try of his own, etc, etc?
The contrarian schtick is getting really old. Either that or
you're just consistently a terrible judge of rugby.
Randall gave away a try with a badly charged-down kick, btw...

Well, the press verdict is that our man Smith had a decent day:
Evening Standard: "Marcus Smith starred on his England debut ...
gifted fly-half Smith, 22, was back shining at Twickenham again
eight days later, scoring a try and earning man-of-the-match
honours."
The Times: "Joe Cokanasiga and Marcus Smith shine ..."
Telegraph: "Marcus Smith ... enjoyed try-scoring introductions
interspersed with bright moments" ... "Harry Randall and Smith
had their share of good and bad moments, not helped by the
disruption caused to England's backline through early injuries
in the backline"
The rugby websites, eg Rugby Dump ("Marcus Smith lit-up
Twickenham") and Ruck ("Marcus Smith stars on debut") are, if
anything, slightly more favourable.
That feels slightly over generous to me, but it does suggest we
haven't seen the last of Smith in an England shirt. However, as
Sam Simmonds and others can vouch for, it all depends on whether
you fit into Eddie's vision.

Will Eddie now abandon his 6-2 split on the bench ? Having just
half-back replacements was shown-up for the ludicrous decision
it was and would have cost us the game against better opposition

You'd hope so, but Eddie...
It can work if you have multiple multi faceted players but while
Malins and Slade can cover a lot of positions, Umaga really
isn't that flexible and a wing injury was always going to hurt
us. Two injuries were a death knell for our shape and
organisation.

According to BBC site Dombrandt and Marchant were not considered
for this match as Eddie thought they needed this week off.
