England will take on USA on Sunday 4 July (2pm KO) and Canada on
Saturday 10 July (3pm KO), with both games at Twickenham
Stadium.
Harlequins’ Joe Marchant and uncapped trio Alex Dombrandt, Jack
Kenningham and Marcus Smith join the squad after winning the
Gallagher Premiership final last weekend.
Exeter Chiefs’ Henry Slade has also been called up, while Wasps’
Gabriel Oghre has returned to the squad after being involved in
the first training week. The squad includes 23 uncapped players.
Chunya Munga is in camp as an apprentice player.
Ollie Sleightholme was unavailable for selection after suffering
concussion in training.
Jones said: “This is the third and final phase of our selection.
We have a squad here full of talent and potential, with 23
uncapped players who have the chance to make their England
debut.
“We’ve had two good weeks working and training hard and now we
look forward to seeing how far we can go.”
Both matches are live on Channel 4.

for an incredible shift covering for wEV. Shame for Northmore
but his time will come.

Outstanding news!
Marchant, Dombrandt and Smith were, I think, expected, but Jack
Kennigham must just be wondering when he's going to wake up!!!
What a dream season for an academy lad thrown in at the deep end
as injury cover! ;D
Presumably this would've been five had Marler not taken himself
out of the running, and surely Will Evans would've been in there
too without the broken leg, although probably at Kennigham's
expense?
Finally, whilst it's no surprise at all to see Marcus getting
the nod ahead of Joe Simmonds, how on earth has Umaga managed to
hang in there? Surely that has to give Marcus the starting
slot, unless Eddie does an Eddie and decides to have Slade play
at 10!!!

I really like Bassett at Wasps and probably his consistency over
the last years has deserved a call up. But is he good enough to
be in future squads? I’d suggest not and surely his place would
have been more worthwhile for someone like Lynagh, who could be
a future superstar and there’s also a fight for his allegiance.
I’m guessing Green isn’t qualified for England as his form in
the run in definitely warranted an inclusion.
