I was quite relaxed last week (well until the game started) as I
considered making the play-offs was a wonderful achievement and
almost everyone expected us to lose anyway. Same this week.

Wasps fan here (I come in peace!).
Just to wish you the best of luck for this afternoon - I'll be
rooting for Quins, and I'm sure many other "neutrals" would say
the same. Here's hoping you can do what we failed to do last
year, and pip Chiefs to the post...
... And if not, you've had one hell of a season anyway, and you
can all feel proud of what your boys have accomplished since
Gustard left.

I was wondering if Squidge would cover Bristanbul, but he hasn’t
so far. However, I did come across this piece from last year,
where he looks at how Exeter won the Champions Cup - and how
Racing might have beaten them.
HTML https://youtu.be/H0Jecijok6Y
What was interesting to me was that there were two elements to
Racing’s fight back.
The first was having 10 players on the pitch who were breakdown
specialists and so being able to slow down Exeter’s ball phase
after phase. We don’t have that sort of depth - though our pack
are pretty good at the breakdown - and it emphasises how much we
could do with WEv today. It makes me wonder if some of the
penalties we gave away last week were a deliberate strategy to
be more aggressive at the breakdown. Kenningham will have his
work cut out for him.
The second element gives me more hope: Exeter’s defence is a
relatively safe drift defence. They don’t have as much of a rush
as other teams, which creates space on the outside for teams
that can get the ball there and have the backs to exploit it.
That would be Quins, then. Or Bristol. Which makes me think that
Baxter’s choice of Nowell is to ensure that the last line of
defence is as solid as it can be, short of mysteriously
unearthing unheralded Italian fullback Michele Bruno.
The other weak spot is that if Exeter are forced to drift faster
than normal, they often leave gaps in the 13 channel, which is
ideal for Marchant, Andre and Dommers to exploit.
All in all, it does suggest that if we can create enough time
and space for Marcus to get the ball wide, there are
opportunities to be had. Against that, we’ll have to keep them
out of our 22.
Easy peasy, then.

Final score Harlequins 38 - 35 Exeter with a Quins drop goal
slotted in somewhere.

I mean, I woke up with and had a good feeling about today, but
didn’t expect my score prediction to be that close!
My oh my, what a day. One of the best days of my life. That was
exhilarating, that was for Mike Brown, that was for the team and
that was for us. I am made up. What a game, Exeter you played an
incredible game playing phenomenally from start to finish.
Harlequins, thank you for giving me one of the best days of my
life

I doubted the team could improve on last week’s performance but
they did. Heroic stuff against a superb Exeter side. Possibly
the best premiership final ever too

I'm feeling good. Thank you for asking.
What a gutsy performance.
