And you actually think it would have been different with any
other ref? A few different posters maybe. :)

Carley appears to have far less empathy and rapport with the
players than referees such as Barnes and Pearce. He seems to
frustrate them more and is more "prissy" (behaves more like a
headmaster).
I very much hope to be proven wrong and/or that Quins are no
more affected by that than Exeter.

Pretty sure Carley was the ref for our home game against Bristol
too, when his dreadful on pitch call meant the TMO couldn't
award Louw a try, despite it being pretty obvious he must have
scored.

Looking at Karl Dickson's Twitter page, it seems dormant. He
pinned something to the top in February which was about him
starting out at Cardiff, but other than that, has not updated it
since last year.

Honestly, yes! I think Luke Pearce would've been met with
cautious optimism at the very least.

According to statbunker - which I almost trust, we have had
Carley in the middle twice this season, one win and one loss. He
has not refereed Exeter this season.
Also we have won the three times Ian Tempest has had the
whistle, but not had Karl in charge, possibly for obvious
reasons.
Exeter have losing records when either Ian and Karl are in
charge.
