Ticketmaster Twickenham system absolutely useless — are you
listening, Harlequins?

Totally unable to make the system to work, despite being early
in the "queue" — every single time i clicked on the second of a
pair of tickets it told me "Unfortunately we were unable to add
the selected seat(s) to the basket. If this issue continues,
refreshing the page may resolve it." Like crap, it resolved it!
I spend 40 minutes trying, by which point every ticket had been
sold to somebody. I literally clicked on dozens of pairs of
tickets. This Ticketmaster deal you have done does not bode well
for the future. Much easier when Quins' wonderful ticketing team
were doing it.

Wasn't it England Rugby rather than Quins?

That may well be (and it may be that Quins were able to do
nothing about it) but hopefully they will take note, especially
as Ticketmaster now provide their ticketing system, I believe.

I had roughly the same experience - bad start to the morning.
Had 5 in the basket at one point and lost the lot as couldn’t
move on. What a joke.

Any chance that they will have General Release too?

whole thing for members

Just to add a little perspective - remember that these are
extreme circumstances. They've got an unusual number of people
competing for a smaller than usual number of tickets in a very
compressed timeframe - and they had just over a week to adapt to
having far fewer tickets available.
That doesn't alter the fact that the ticketing system is not
very good at what it is being asked to do - but it's being asked
to do something it wasn't designed for because of circumstances
that are outside Ticketmaster's control. You could argue that
they should have redesigned their system to cope better with
COVID restrictions - and perhaps they should have done - but
having worked in and around IT for three decades now I know that
making changes like these on a system they probably use globally
is a pretty high risk exercise.
It's not great, and lots of people are going to be disappointed,
but with 2,500 tickets among 8,000 or so STHs that was going to
be the case however you cut it.
