HARLEQUINS SIDE FOR SEMI-FINAL NAMED

HARLEQUINS’ COACHING GROUP HAVE NAMED THE SIDE TO FACE BRISTOL
BEARS IN THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE 2020/21 GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP

There is one change to the starting line-up that racked up over
50 points in victory over Newcastle last weekend, with Club
Captain Stephan Lewies returning to fitness to start in the
second row alongside Matt Symons.
Quins’ coaches have named an otherwise unchanged starting XV,
with just two changes on the bench as Dino Lamb, replaced by
Lewies in the starting line-up, takes up a spot amongst the
Impact Players while Scotland international James Lang returns
to the match day 23 in place of wing Cadan Murley.
The Club boasts seven Harlequins Academy products in the
starting XV to face Bristol this week, with a total of eleven in
the matchday 23.
Harlequins General Manager Billy Millard said: “We have a great
opportunity over the next two weeks to add to this Club’s great
history. I cannot praise highly enough the drive and dedication
I’ve seen from our playing and backroom staff over the last few
months. It’s been incredible to be a part of it.
“We had a great, closely contested battle with Bristol the last
time we went to Ashton Gate. We know how close we were to
winning that game and the areas that needed addressing to turn
that result into a victory.
“Bristol are an attack-minded team, much like ourselves, but
both sides know how to win games with the gritty battle up
front.
“We’ve had a good week’s prep, and we know which areas we’ll
need to be sharp on this week to go on to the final next week."

Would have liked to seen Chis start instead of Lawday but I’m
sure we’ll see him come on early in the second half. Otherwise
very happy with that team and think we are in with a decent
shot. Also I have a feeling we could get the edge on them at the
scrum which could be vitally important. Fingers crossed

I hope we have just enough rain to make the ball a little
slippery, because I agree with Captquin about the scrum.

Bristol are obviously the clear favourites, which I think suits
us massively if we can get on the front foot and play without
any fear. I just hope we try and stick to our gameplan as
opposed to kicking possession away everytime we get the ball.
I feel their 'finishers' tops ours quite a bit all round - but
should be a cracking game

As good as it can be probably. Bit surprised by the lack of
Murley but that looks like a balance of options thing.

Excellent. Really strong line up. Glad Marler is available.
Missing 3 first choice starters, which is a shame, but could be
much worse. We have pretty decent replacements for all 3 as
well, so while not ideal, we're not too far of full strength.
I reckon we're stronger 1-3 and 9-10. They are stronger 6-8 and
11-15. Second row about even. They definitely have a stronger
bench though.

When you see the names and the quality in that Bristol team, you
can see why they are favourites. Our boys have nothing to lose
and hopefully they play in that fashion. Our tight 5 will be key
to winning this game, both at the set piece and around the
pitch. I’m slightly surprised they’ve gone with Thacker
considering his lack of game time and that he is slightly weaker
at scrum time.
Marchant and Taps are going to have to really look after Lynagh
I think as I’m sure they’ll target him defensively but he
certainly hasn’t looked fazed by anything since he’s come into
the team.
