If Sinckler is fit, he’ll be playing for Bristol this weekend. I
think we’ll be facing a pretty much full strength Bristol team.

Byrne is a loss for them but they have depth in Kerr, Thacker
and Capon. Naulago I don’t think makes the starting XV if
everyone is fit, a brilliant attacking player but needs to
       improve defensively.

Let someone who knows answer for you.
Sinckler is fit. Naulago would have been there or there about
for selection if fit, but alas is out for the season.
Team is likely to be something very close to:
       1. Y. Thomas
       2. Thacker
       3. Sinckler
       4. Attwood
       5. Vui
       6. Luatua (c)
       7. Earl
       8. Hughes
       9. Randall
       10. Sheedy
       11. Malins
       12. S. Piutau/Piers O'Connor
       13. Radradra
       14. Morahan
       15. C. Piutau
       16. Capon
       17. Woolmore
       18. Afoa
       19. Joyce
       20. D. Thomas
       21. Uren
       22. Lloyd
       23. POC if SP starts, Leiua if POC starts
One of SP, POC and Leiua misses out, as does Lahiff, Holmes,
Heenan (though could be D. Thomas) and Purdy - who would all be
       classed as regulars.

Player for player, it's quite finely balanced. To have a stab at
a combined team, I'd probably end up with:
       Marler Baldwin Louw
       Attwood Lewies
       Luatua Earl Dombrandt
       Care Smith
       O'Connor Radrada
       Malins Piutau Morahan
There are a lot of close calls - if Tapuai had had more time at
12, I could easily pick him there, Dombrandt vs Hughes is a
matter of taste, Sinckler vs Louw is a matter of fine margins...
But there's also - for two attack-minded teams - some real
contrast in style. Quins' big carriers don't tend to be as
destructive as Bristol's, but they offer more variety and lines.
A lot of Bristol's creativity comes from the Piutaus and
Radrada, where as Quins play a lot more off Care and Smith, with
Marchant coming into the mix in transition play.
If both teams turn up and want to play, and Wayne is happy to
let it happen, it should be a real spectacle.

I'd be surprised if Thomas doesn't start. I'd say he's their
best exponent as slowing down and disrupting opposition ball.

If Marler is away it could make such a huge difference. Botta up
against Sinckler and/or Afoa isn't a prospect to relish.
I really hope that Symons and Lewies are fit. They rarely play
together and the step down is significant.
I think their backrow is stronger.
Tapuai and Marchant should be able to keep their centres honest.
I'm not saying they're on the same level, but it's not a
       horrendous mismatch at all.
Our back three is weak compared to theirs.
Half backs are fairly evenly matched and quite similar, but I
think we have the edge there.

A couple of months ago I would have agreed but Lamb has come on
leaps and bounds for me. When one of Lewies/Symons have been out
recently, we haven't missed them half as much as we used to and
Lamb has made himself a real problem to oppo lineouts.

"If Marler is away ...?" Is that a possibility?
