Ah well, I guess it was on the cards as the retail business took
off. It'll be interesting to see who takes over the pitch. I saw
a Hog Roast stall behind the south stand on Saturday. The "Hog
Hut" by gate 1 will have new occupants I guess...

Shame. But the quality of the product had nose dived from what
we saw in those early days. Perhaps we could have that bloke and
his two daughters who used to do the Hog Roast van?

Can't say I'm that gutted. They started out as a really good and
reasonably priced hog roast, but ended up selling over-priced
rolls full of stuffing with a bit of tasteless, boiled pork on
top. Maybe it's just not economically viable to do the hog roast
properly on a large scale.
Anyway, good luck to them. I'm pleased to hear their business is
doing well. They've had good PR from Michel Roux which must help

when they started out they were the best I'd had in years, sadly
as they got successful the quality when down hill as they tried
to keep up with demand, having roast pork delivered after
sitting in boiling water to keep warm wasn't pleasant certainly
at £7.5+ cost anyway. I do support them in the supermarket
though as their bangers are top nosh. Wish them luck with their
future.

th hog roast vans seen at cricket test matches, Twickenham etc
suggest large scale is just fine.

Why not make a bacon sandwich at home and bring it with you in
an appropriate pocket. The bread you like, the bacon you like,
done how you like it, the sauce you like added in the quantities
you like! Much cheaper too!
I really don't know why I haven't suggested this before? (irony)

I like my bacon hot and crispy! I have yet to find an
appropriate pocket to deliver this. Admittedly I've yet to
discover a purveyor of bacon who can do it at a mass-catered
event either, but still...

Coming from Surrey, your bacon sarnie will still be warm. Hot,
even if you wrap it in silver foil.

No great surprise. As others have said it wasn't what it used to
be in the days of miss piggy parked outside the North stand
anyway 😥 My kids will be disappointed though.
