Interesting choice of terminology - not ' considered ' for
selection . begs the question injured , or not picked on merit -
I think the Saints way is more informative
I did enjoy Tapui and Marchant last week , so pleased he's kept
that combination and the bench looks better than we've had for
a while .
Good strong team , no excuses with those on the park , odds a
bit against us having lost 6 times on the bounce at Franklins
Gardens , but not many in that team will have experienced that
so fingers crossed we can nick one at long last.

It must mean injured. Visser played in the week for the A side,
he is not mentioned in the list. If it was a list including
"dropped" players, surely he would be there (as would Ward)

If I was to make a guess I would say that Brown may have
requested to miss this game in order to play his 300th game at
home rather than away.
Just a theory but he certainly did not seem to have picked up
any injuries last week.

That would be completely out of character for Brown. When fit,
he wants to play.
Could England rest periods come into the equation in terms of
the number of games he can play?

Agreed would certainly be out of character so maybe as you
mentioned there might be some sort of rest period implication
and he has chosen to take his now in order to do his 300th at
home.
At the same time he could have just picked up a knock in
training and they do not want to risk him :)

Players in the England squad do have to miss a certain number of
games in each block as part of the agreement between the RFU &
PRL

I tend to agree honkytonk ,but in that case why not say ' not
available for selection' and even give the explanation as Saints
have done for their injured players . - that removes a lot of
speculation .

I see this more as rotations than drops. Can't believe we would
have picked up all those new injuries. With strength in certain
positions (back row/back three), we can afford to be
preventative. We have a run of quite a few games we could/should
win if we want to see improvement (Saints, Bath, Bristol,
Gloucester) and I suspect we'd have seen a vastly different team
if it were Sarries away this week followed by, say, Bristol at
home.
But it's refreshing to see us detailing info like this in some
form.

I don't think there's too many new injuries there. 9-10 of those
named did'nt appear in any pre season games. I think it just
looks a bit daunting when it's just laid out bare for the first
time

It’s a bit weird
So is Ward just rubbish and therefore not considered - or
injured?
Are Brown and Visser now injured?
Help us Gustard - we’re lost
