And I've never heard of anyone catching RTA or passing it on to
       more vulnerable people.

Not questioning his personal choice, questioning why he wanted
to use an interview to say the vaccine isn’t safe.

The interview wasn’t about Covid , it was about his type 1
       diabetes,
       Worth reading his statement

Maybe I've not made my point clearly enough.
We had lockdown for Covid because we didn't have the ability to
       vaccinate the vulnerable.
We now not only have the ability to vaccinate the vulnerable,
we can do so with a vaccine which has so far proven to be far
more effective than the 'flu vaccine.
If he'd said he wasn't going to respect the lockdown because he
wasn't at risk, I would've joined the condemnation, but
criticising him now for turning down a vaccine for Covid makes
absolutely no sense unless you're also going to criticise him
for turning down a 'flu vaccine.

Every death of a young person is a tragedy, but those numbers
       are statistically irrelevant.
If you can save a single human life without any negatives, then
of course you should do so. If the cost of saving that life is
other people dying, it's not that straightforward.
Unfortunately over the last 15 months, government policy became
about only stopping Covid deaths, regardless of the cost
       elsewhere.

Statistically they may not be powerful, but to a parent or
sibling etc they are very significant - but that wasn’t my
point, which was more along the lines that a similar number of
younger people had died of COVID (early 2021 figure that has
surely increased since older people are being inoculated and
more young people have been infected), not “far, far
       less/fewer”.

The Govt has done everything it could to keep economy going to
the extent of delaying action last year by 3 weeks or so before
acting, keeping flights into/out of country last summer, eat out
campaign, not locking down in September and delaying Xmas
lockdown. Each one of these delays created a bigger problem down
the line that needed more corrective actions that have lead to
longer lockdowns and further demise. Had the Govt acted early on
each of these occasions the infection/death peaks would have
been far smaller/fewer and subsequent recoveries more robust. By
Willy-Nilliying, Boris has created a bigger problem resulting in
more deaths and deeper economic pain.

But you knew all this in advance and warned the Prime Minister
       accordingly?
Oh! You didn't know? well, if you didn't know in advance, how do
you expect Boris Johnson to know in advance?

Er, quite a few countries had engaged this type of response a
month before March last year - the evidence from previous SARS
and MERS epidemics had shown that, so there was plenty of
evidence, if you chose to look and pay attention.
I’m not having a go at the Govt for the furlough scheme and
other measures to support business and peoples livelihoods -
that is to be supported and for many has been a saviour - just
       their policy on lockdown.
