Agree with this. With the reduction in the cap, bringing in an
experienced player who is familiar with Quins and the squad for
a (assumed) lowish cost is good business.

When with the club previously Luke worked very closely with Mark
Lambert and was a very active team/squad member in relation to
the charities and foundations that the club support, he even
went on a number of not very well documented trips to the areas
we supported and became very involved, just talking to him about
them,you could feel his passion.
Having had the opportunity to speak with him at several events,
all of his involvement was very clearly not for show, it meant
something to him and he absolutely loved being involved.
His presence back at the club hopefully will influence and teach
the new guys that being a pro isn't just about turning up on
Saturday and can encourage their development and growth in this
particular sphere, Mr Lambert has left a hole which no specific
player has really filled (mind you, Mark was excellent so very
hard to do), Luke used to bleed QUINS - even if he only plays a
hand full of games, his presence is going to be so much more
effective than that of a stranger bought in on a short term
contract..........great bloke,good player who always had time
for people and wears his heart on his sleeve........... I say,
welcome back!!

For the harder nosed among you, I guess the question is: with
WEv out long term, can you suggest a better option who is
a) Available immediately
b) Affordable
c) Competent at openside
d) Can quickly integrate into the squad?
Our fit and available openside resources currently consist of an
academy lad and some generalist squad back rows. A bit of
additional experience in the position is no bad thing,
especially when we've got an injury replacement budget that can
be used for it.

I've just realised the problem with this. He's not called Will.
I think we need to start calling him Will from now on, just to
be sure.

Like so many others, I think this is an excellent piece of
business by the club. Well done Billy M I say. Whether Luke is
on the pitch, in the changing room, club ambassador or on the
trainging ground, one has the feeling that he is a class act and
will bring value to the whole squad, not just the No7 role. I am
sure he can help bring on Jack Kenningham. Welcome back Luke!

Luke was superb until his injury, wasnt the same player after
that, very frustrating seeing him always on the wing, he was
much better at ferreting out the ball from a ruck. Good back up
player and if he is back to his old self a superb player so
quite happy with this signing. Welcome back Luke.

I was never too bothered about him appearing on the wing as his
work rate stats were nearly always where you'd want them to be.
