Reckless and intentional are separate categories. They've
already accepted it was unintentional and confirmed
recklessness. The only avenue for appeal is the starting point
of top end sanction when they accept it wasn't intentional. I
find it hard to believe that Mike and the club don't have
seriously legitimate grounds for appeal there.
If a player 100% deliberately slams his foot into an opponent's
face in order to do damage, that would be a top end entry point
also... You just can't equate that scenario with what actually
happened, when it's accepted it wasn't deliberate.
I don't see how an appeal wouldn't be successful on that basis?!
But of course, this isn't law, this is the kangaroo court of
       rugby citings.

TT was not entirely blameless for the incident, he was pulling
at MB's legs in an attempt to de-stablise him.
Don't condone any intended harm to another player though!
And not saying it was intended either!! :)

to put it in other words, an accepted accidental placement of
the foot to a head gets the same sanction starting point as
deliberate stamp to a head, it doesn't make sense.

I still think TT headbutted Mikes foot.

No it doesn't. Top end is 52 weeks.

ok will re-word that, Andre got a similar ban for his first
deliberate elbow to the head, deemed deliberate foul play. MB
found not deliberate good conduct etc and they ignore then the
minimum mid range entry point and go for the high end, he's
being treated the same as if it were deliberate.

Seems very harsh to start at high end. Gutted for Mike

       Deemed reckless, not deliberate.
But, I think we need to see Mike's judgement to see why they
chose top-end. Although I doubt it will make any difference for
       some. :)

Regardless of the hearing and any potential appeal, or even our
likelihood of playoffs/silverware this year... I'm just
absolutely gutted for Mike that he doesn't get to run out in
front of fans at least one last time, truly gutted. Of any
player that's ever worn the quarters, he deserves that the most.
       Gutted.
