Well that's a massive shame - can't say that Taylor looked very
injured to me.

Given he's already made a guilty plea to the charge, the only
grounds for appeal would be to question the Entry Point, seeing
how they've gone for Top End. That would be a tough call...

Not sure I agree that Taylor was injured, from my memory he
didn’t go off for blood or a HIA? I think that the injury Taylor
needed treatment for an injury caused from a Wilco Louw clean
out at the ruck before Marchant’s try in the first half, the
highlights show him clutching his face immediately after.

When was the last time you got your head trod on by someone
wearing a rugby boot?

Errr... What does that have to do with whether or not TT looked
injured?!

by doing so. The panel accept the incident was not intentional
- so they accept it was an accident - and yet they applied the
highest sanction reduced by half in mitigation. Brown will not
play again this season as a consequence. However if the club
appeal and argue this is an unreasonably harsh judgement they
could win and bring the entry point to mid way (6 weeks) with
mitigation he could still play in the Newcastle game.

Agree there is nothing to lose in trying but not sure what they
would revaluate out of the following:
Head contact: No doubt
Injured: Strange he wasn't taken off for a HIA but he was subbed
5 mins later so unless he provides a statement saying he isn't
injured I don't see this changing.
Vulnerability of player: Was on his back, yeah a bit of holding
but couldn't do much about Mike's foot in his face.
Reckless: Probably the best chance but still a hell of a
argument to show it was 100% accidental and external factors
forced him off balance.

The appeal would purely be an attempt to get him back before the
end of the season, because 6 matches ends his season entirely.
From Quins perspective, there's nothing to lose. From Brown's
perspective, there's a little more to lose.
Actually I suppose Brown is the kind of player who really,
genuinely cares about his reputation and would seek to clear his
record a bit, so perhaps he would be fully on board with the
appeal.

weird one with no prior, not deliberate they start with high end
and not mid range, go along with all their thoughts on reckless,
player vulnerable but to set it at high end is very strange with
the assumptions given. Why bother having/.considering those
factors if you totally ignore them. Should appeal it maybe get
proof if the player was actually injured from it. Gutted for
Mike didn't deserve that high a punishment.
