I don't see anyone blaming the players for having social media
       accounts. Is it just me?

Unless I'm misreading it, this one seems to lean that way.

       certain parts of London.

Twitter is a cesspool and facebook isn't much better. I have
       left both.
I hate social media, the only one's I now use are Whatts App for
those who haven't moved to signal yet.

This is hardly social media, or at least I don't consider it to
       be so.

I've always been an advocate of free speech ,but a message needs
to get across that keyboard warriors have no right to use
social media as a platform to carry out online bullying &
racism against individuals & groups .
I've reported vile comments on Twitter & elsewhere on numerous
occasions in the past and no action has been taken, & as a
result now use social media solely as a means of keeping up
       to date
The genie is out of the bottle & with social media expanding (
and seemingly self regulatory ) something like this was always
       going to happen.

Not sure about these two statements.
Women should be able to walk anywhere without the fear of being
sexually assaulted - they should take more care, as anyone
       should when out late.
Young men (or women) in London, unless extremely gifted Merchant
Bankers or Football players, don't really get a choice of where
their parents live or they are forced to live due to high cost
       of rent.

Sorry I can see no sign of that blaming players for having a
social media account. Just some advice.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I was saying that,
suggesting that people come off social media to avoid abuse is
similar to suggesting that other people change their reasonable
behaviour to avoid criminal behaviour. Victim blaming
essentially. Of course people should be careful in how they go
about their lives and I, as a 6 foot 2, 15ish stone bloke,
wouldn't walk through certain areas at night, but the focus
should be on addressing the unpleasant elements in society
rather than imposing restrictions on the law abiding people.

To which I guess the response is, why should they have to avoid
SM? They should be as free to use it as you or I and clearly get
some benefits from it that I assume you don't get (I certainly
don't!), in terms of endorsements, raising profile etc.
Again, T-Bone's response above seems to sum up my views, which
you've agreed with, I should probably just leave him to post
       instead of me!
