You only had to skip to the bottom of the judgement to see.
I thought they'd started adjusting it to be matches years ago,
even though they still quote weeks. Probably don't want to
rewrite all the documentation.

Bonkers red and a crazy long suspension frankly. But with the
laws as they are written and being applied at the moment I can
see how it comes out to that. I am a bit disappointed to say the
least, he's a very useful player when playing. Sitting on the
side-lines because he's banned however doesn't help anyone.
Shame, let's hope he doesn't have too many more brain farts....

So not bonkers or crazy...

Agree fully.

I think the punishment doesn't fit the crime in this case, yes
he was stupid but the LI13 even went on record saying it wasn't
in his face and didn't deserve a red card. If they start to
review every on pitch scuffle on this basis there are going to
be dozens more players getting long bans.
Plus, when he did elbow the Gloucester player on the floor he
only got 4 matches and that was clearly deliberate so it does
seem very harsh for this one
Maybe the club shouldn't have challenged it and then it would
have probably been only 4 matches so we would have had him for
the semis but it is what it is.
I still think he's a quality player and happy to have him at the
club, but, not again please!

He's easily the best 12 we've had since JTH in my eyes for all
round contribution.
The main issue is, unless he changes his application to things
he will still be easy to wind up by the oppo, and we can't
really afford to have a player miss half of their games due to a
moment of red mist.
In my eyes there isn't a good enough replacement for the rest of
the games. Taps is mediocre and Lasike is a bit of a one trick
pony. Lang would be my choice to replace him.
For next season I would move on Taps and Lasike, and spend their
wages on a 12 where the gulf in quality isn't so huge to what it
is now with someone from the academy making up the 3rd choice
spot. Ideally with Lang off already, if the other 2 go we could
easily bring in two players, ideally comfortable in both
positions adding cover. I'd rather have a smaller squad propped
up with young talent, than have a larger squad of players who
are probably a division higher than where they should be.

I am not sure Quins would extend Tap's contact and I'm not sure
when it presently expires, but its worth keeping Lasike - he's
not likely to be costing much and is a menace on the pitch.
If I were the Gang Of Four, Ester's punishment would be to
develop Lasike for the rest of the season: including being his
tackle bag: improve his defence and he'd be a valuable player
for Quins.

I'd like to see Lasike given a run. His style is similar to
Andre's, even if he isn't quite as skilled, and he made a
massive difference to the team when he came off the bench last
year. I'd be willing to bet that our stats with him on the field
are better than with any of our other 12s bar Andre.

As you say, it's 6 weeks because he didn't plead guilty and
because his previous incident didn't allow for mitigation.
Judging by the available evidence, the panel is completely right
to disregard Rona's testimony, though it was nice of him to try
it.
MQ: I think Lasike is probably not on a lot of money, and he
does have a point of difference. Agree about Taps, who is
probably on more money, and I do think Lasike is essentially raw
material rather than a complete rugby player, but he has his
uses. At 30 he's unlikely to improve much more, but he's a handy
alternative when we need that midfield carrying power, until the
kids (Lennox and Hyde - good boxing names, those) are in a
position to take over.

Lasike did well in the A game against Bath judging from the
highlights.
