       history.

that it’s low end with some mitigation. He might get away with 3
weeks... though whether they will fiddle it with a euro round
coming up that Quins aren’t in I don’t know.

That's a pretty fair summation. Can you represent him at the
       hearing please.

Sadly, I fear my love of biscuits might undermine his case...

Well the on-line edition of the Times today says he received a
'soft red when his forearm brushed Rona's chin' and he 'was hard
done by to be sent off'. So hopefully the Panel will acknowledge
       the lack of force.

Looking beyond that, if we can have him back for the Enya game
then we should (although there are no gimmies) be able to cope
       till then.

I also don't think there was much force, but saying it "brushed
Rona's chin" is just not true. He shoves it directly into Rona's
jaw and knocks his head back. 2:10 on the video here:

I don't think he can argue it's not a red card offence. Like
poorfour I think the best we can hope for is low-end. The
previous red card will hurt his case.

Well Nigel Botherway in the Times on Sunday called it an smash’!

So when looking at whether a high shot/tackle to the head -
'level of danger' is certainly one of the mitigating factors
that can then bring it back down to a yellow. Does the same not
       apply in this situation?

No, because it's not an attempt to make a legal action (i.e. a
tackle) and is a deliberate act of violence. That's not to say
the citing commission won't look at the relative lack of force
as a potential mitigating factor when determining the ban.
Again I go back to the Botta decision for this comparison: A
high tackle that doesn't connect isn't even a penalty. An
attempted punch that doesn't connect is a yellow card.

A really harsh red in my view. And as has been mentioned, they
failed to deal with the culprits who started the incident.

Alternately ... stupid rugby player gets red card shocker.
