Disappointing end. Herron was seriously poor, Earle not that
       much better.

Agree, poor finish and they didn't really look up for it. Herron
       def a worry.

Annoying to lose, but ultimately it was more about giving
players some game time and seeing who steps up.
Lasike looks lean and fit. He could be a real asset going in to
       the final rounds.
Herron poor again - no excuses this time round.
Earle likewise. He was so good for us pre-injury that I’m
willing him to return to form, but as of right now, he really is
a shadow of the player he was.
Let’s hope Botta is off. He is never good.
Stafford looks better than Gjaltema IMO.

Agree about Stafford, although he has played more rugby
       recently.

Think the young academy boys had better games than the players
who have been involved with the XV i.e. Herron/White/Earle. Was
impressed with our two young THs, up against a pretty
experienced campaigner in Bhatti and both won a couple penalties
from the scrum. Riley and Beard impressive from the bench. Wish
we had managed to get Lennox a bit more opportunity ball in
hand. We have a fair bit of young talent in the centres with
Hyde coming in as well so its going to be interesting to see how
       we manage their development.

Ignoring how bad Herron's miss was at the end, why we were going
for goal? I get that it would probably have won us the game, but
who cares in a friendly? Why not try to score a try?
Lasike looked good, decent scrum performance. Some decent
performances dotted about Herron and Earle poor. Thought
Stafford looked better than Gjaltema Pretty scrappy, as you'd
expect from a scratch team with no game time.

Without getting carried away, this is why I wondered if Tapuai
       and Collier could move on
Centres we have Andre, Lasike, Marchant, Northmore, Lennox.
Plus Green, Murley and then Beard and Hyde in the academy.
TH Louw, Kerrod, Trenier (when fit), Baxter, Wilson
With a smaller cap, and other areas needing attention, why not
put some faith in a few of the younger blokes. Baxter has
looked good in the scrum against Racing and now the Bath LH.

I reckon we’ll let Earle go and keep Taps.
       12- Ester/Lasike/Taps
       13- Marchant/Northmore/Taps
And then add in Lennox, Hyde, Beard, Murley if needed and Ojo
joining the academy. Should give us enough cap space to replace
Herron with a good back up to Marcus.
At TH, I’d keep Collier until we see that Trenier can stay fit
for longer than a week. Baxter just turned 19 so probably needs
at least 2 more years of professional gym work and dieting in
order to have the size to compete at premiership level. But with
Marler and Louw as potential mentors and obvious star talent at
age group level, Baxter could turn out to be an excellent
       player.

These teams care about winning. They play these matches as if
       they're 1st XV games, that's part of the point. It's not a
       training game.

Because the value of a win for team morale - especially away
from home - is not to be underestimated, even in a friendly? :)
