Just seen that our friendly against Bath is going to be live
streamed today. Good opportunity to potentially see how some of
the younger academy guys get on.

HARLEQUINS HAVE NAMED THE TEAM TO PLAY IN A FRIENDLY FIXTURE AT
BATH THIS FRIDAY
Harlequins A will travel to The Recreation Ground this Friday
(15:00 kick-off) to face Bath United in a friendly fixture,
streamed via the Bath Rugby website and YouTube channel.
A strong Quins team will travel to the West Country, with a
healthy mix of senior squad members and Harlequins Academy
players, with four internationals named in the starting XV as
Santiago Garcia Botta (Argentina), Tevita Cavubati (Fiji),
Michele Campagnaro (Italy) and Paul Lasike (USA) all return to
the starting line-up.
Archie White leads the side from number eight alongside fellow
Academy products George Hammond and Will Trenholm in the back
row, with the trio just three of 13 names either currently
within or to have graduated from the Club’s Academy pathway.
Four U18 players will feature for the team, with Connor Slevin
starting at fullback and David Ofori-Manteaw, Nathan Jibulu and
Jamie Benson all named amongst the Impact Players.
Commenting ahead of the fixture, Harlequins Academy and
Transition Coach Charlie Mulchrone said: “This game is a great
chance for us to get some game time into some of the guys that
have been carving it up in training. Part of the reason we are
going so well as a Club at the moment is because of how
impressive some of these players have been in training every
week.
“It’s great that this game against Bath will provide them with a
platform to express themselves and show what they can do. It’s
been hard to get enough playing minutes into the entire squad in
what has been an abnormal season, and we’re excited to see these
guys out there on Friday afternoon.”

Interesting that Herron is starting at 10 whilst Edwards is on
the bench for the 1st XV. Wonder if this is because we want
Herron to get some game time and Smith is likely to be on most
of the game

Guess that confirms Slevin, Jibulu, Benson are getting
professional contracts. Interested to see how Slevin gets on,
similar build to Steward at Leicester. Benson in a couple years
time could develop into the perfect understudy to Marcus.

I imagine he's keen to get game time so that he at least has
some match fitness before his move

I find that very strange. Maybe he is travelling reserve on
Saturday, along with Tapuai and others
