I love how we look to turn everything into an attacking
opportunity. It's my belief this is one of the biggest
differences between UK domestic rugby and that in the SH, and
it's to the benefit of everyone involved. It makes better,
smarter players with more honed skills. We're not the only side
doing it - Bristol have the same approach - but it's still
pretty rare and it's made watching Quins an absolute joy.

My impression is that we have two advantages over Bristol right
now (for all that we lost to them) - firstly, a lot of their
transition (defence into attack) play seems to pivot around
Radrada, and if he is absent or contained then they seem to be
much less effective, whereas Quins have more players who can
make those shifts.
Secondly, I think their scrum (and Exeter's, for that matter) is
a bit vulnerable, certainly when we have Marler and Louw on the
pitch. Bomb has crafted a unit that has a good chance of hurting
most sides.

From what I've heard from the weekend's game, Malins made a huge
difference (I think Piutau's been a little off the pace a lot of
the time he's played this season; still brilliant, but not
untouchable) but yeah. Definitely agree on the scrum - insert
grouch here about how poorly it was reffed when we faced them!

I just love the fact we are back playing the "quins way". We've
moved back to an attacking mindset, backed up with solid set
piece. We're trying to score lots of points, not just contain
the opposition and pressurise them into mistakes. It's a
positive game plan rather than a negative one.
I said before that I'd rather see us lose some tight games
playing positively, then watch a season where we kick, chase and
try to pressurise. We weren't very good at that anyway.
You can see that the players like playing that way too, and our
change in game plan has coincided with some keys players
returning to top form.
When Gustard went, there was pressure on the players to deliver,
especially after Kingston went in similar circumstances. The
players have delivered so far.

For me the best thing is that I now look forward to watching
Quins rather than feeling I have to through a sense of duty.

We're playing some really nice stuff every week, the team look
like they're enjoying themselves, and we're getting much better
at the basics. Far fewer basic errors in general with some
really great set piece stats too.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the look of absolute joy on
Tyrone Green's face as he hammers in tackle after tackle... yes,
he looks great going forward, but having that quality AND rock
solid defence is so rare...

I for one am so happy to have been proved wrong by the previous
performances of certain players, especially Baldwin, Brown and
Care. Shame 2 out of 3 are leaving. It's a joy to watch Quins
now, even the last 10 mins on saturday wasn't a problem, I just
laughed at how bad Landajo was, at one point he was facing the
wrong way 5 meters from our ruck . Steele is more than ready to
replace Danny when fit. Think Evans has been one of the best
signings in recent years.
