In the 20 years Ive watched Quins play regularly, no one matches
his turnover capability.
Will he play for England? There are some equally adept jackalers
- but they are chunkier than him - cant see him getting a game
under EJ...

significantly weaker. Obviously we aren’t going to get someone
of Smith’s quality to be coming off the bench, but I just don’t
trust Herron to lead us at 10.

Think I would rather have Lang tbh

I'd need to see more of Kenningham, but he looks very much like
an out and out openside and so I'm not convinced he and Evans
starting at 7 and 6 respectively is wise.
You want a 6 to chop the opposition down to create opportunities
for the jackal.
The best example of 'two jackallers' was Hooper and Pocock, but
they played 7 and 8 with Fardy at 6 to do the grunt work of
tackling and hitting rucks. In my opinion, you need a
hardworking blindside on the pitch for back row balance. Better
to have a quality openside in reserve rather than shoehorn them
in at 6.

I know we have little choice with Steele out but I still feel
Landajo puts the brakes on everything when he comes on. As for
Herron I'd genuinely like to see him do well but nothing has
really convinced me since he joined the club.

I think Lang is the better overall player, I just think they’ll
go with Herron as he’ll be training all week in the ten jersey.
Lang’s made it clear that he sees himself as a centre so would
be surprised if he’s getting meaningful training time at 10.

Would have Lang over Herron, Herron wouldn't be anywhere near
our bench if I was picking, I know he's had no game time but
he's been dreadful in his last couple outings.

Hard to disagree with this. I don’t see why we shouldn’t try a
young academy player to be understudy to smith imo. Herron
hasn’t been great at all.

Kenningham’s tackling is excellent. If you watch him he hits
hard and low and takes people out. Like Marler really makes a
big difference when this happens and stops teams. He has a
bright future. Back row looks very good moving forward.

Even though he's going and prefers centre, I'd still have Lang
ahead of Herron. It's harsh on Herron who, like many before him
in the Nev era, has to try to impress in short cameos and
usually at a time when quite a few replacements have just come
on, meaning the team is a bit disjointed anyway. I've no idea if
Herron is staying, so not sure if his starts are so that we can
invest in him for the future, but I still feel that Lang is the
better option for a tilt at top 4
