That they have a system that successfully favours the national
team. Didn’t think it was that cryptic to be honest.

While I was gutted with the result, we can play anyone in our
squad for any game! It is not up to anyone else to dictate who
       should play!
The same argument happens every year in the domestic cup
competitions in footie. Ultimately the manager and coaches can
do what they think is best for the squad and the club.
While I was frustrated, outsiders shouldn't really take a swipe
at us. All 23 players were professional rugby players who gave
       their best.

It's not cryptic in the slightest, just totally irrelevant.
There's also no 'system' that favours the national team. They
just have awful regional teams with a few good players dotted
       about.

I definitely did not feel it was a meaningless competition when
we beat Stade Francais in the final.

Well I think it’s very relevant and that there are examples of
systems that favour the national team - Ireland being the most
obvious one. So, whilst you can be as categoric as you like,
I’ll carry on having my opinion, you can have yours and then we
       are both happy.

Haha, ok. You're welcome to your opinion.
My point is about the performance of club teams in competitions.
Club teams that are in charge of their own recruitment, coaching
and development pathways. So how you linked Wales winning the 6N
to a point about clubs not performing, I have no idea.
       Anyway, all the best.

Don't get me wrong, I loved every second of watching that game
and it felt great to win. But it means we're the best of the
rest. It's a competition I don't care if we ever win again...
but if we end up in a final, of course I'll want to win it.

Coming into this thread a bit late, but, as has been mentioned
earlier, TRP is nowhere near the calibration of a few seasons
ago. I used to subscribe and looked forward to my Sunday morning
read of all the news etc, mainly well informed and well
presented. However, with the ever increasing number of Sunday
games (not the fault of TRP), it started to become less
relevant, and that coupled with a gradual fall in the quality of
the articles, plus a steady increase in price triggered the
cancellation of my regular delivery, and to be honest, there are
so many ways to get information these days at the press of a
key, that the printed version is ever less valuable. I do recall
that when it was the Rugby Times, printed on a much higher
quality paper it seemed to me to be a better read, that maybe
that’s my memory playing tricks on me.
