Quins Heritage Website Launched

Article with announcement:
HTML https://www.quins.co.uk/news/harlequins-heritage-website-launched/
FIRST PHASE OF NEW SITE INCLUDES FIXTURES DETAILS FROM
1867-1900, MATCH REPORTS, PHOTO GALLERIES AND MORE
In the 155 years since the Club was founded, it has created much
rugby history.
There are displays around Twickenham Stoop illustrating various
aspects of this. There is much more in the Club’s archives that
has not yet seen the light of day.
With the support of Quinssa and Harlequin Players Association
(HOPA), the Heritage team has created a website that contains
these hidden items. Now the first phase of this website is to be
launched this week.
It will cover:
- The Club’s fixtures between 1867 and 1900; the clubs we
played, who played and scored for Quins
- A selection of match reports from over the years
- A photo gallery of those who have captained from 1877 to the
present day.
- The minutes of Club meetings from 1898 to 1914. This covers
the meetings that saw Quins avoid folding; the election of
Adrian Stoop and the decision to play at Twickenham
- A photo gallery and biographies of the Club’s Presidents
- A selection of programmes over the years
- The Roll of Honours for WW1 and WW2
These are the first steps on our Heritage website. Let us hear
what you would like to see covered as the site develops.
Equally, suggestions as to how it could be improved are
welcomed.
One of the areas that should be included are your memories of
particular moments or matches over the years. Also, inevitably
mistakes have been made so please identify facts that should be
corrected. You should send your comments to
Heritage.Team@quins.co.uk.
The Heritage Team is a group of volunteers and always welcome
new members. If you wish to help, please let us know.
Additionally, if you have items of Quins memorabilia you like to
include or loan to the archives, please contact us.
And the link for the heritage site is:

It does say any input for how to improve etc, so no harm in
asking.

that could be on show

What about Harlequins the first 150 years by Nick Cross aka
RleQuin?
He was the clubs historian and possibly collected a lot of the
stats they will put online.

Indeed its incredible that the club cannot acknowledge the
existence of what is the best book. They do not have the
information my brother has amassed over the years, so the
website will be a bit of a joke with lots of key info missing.

It just shows you how childish the club are!
In fact, I wonder which of those books they mention they will be
getting all the fixtures and results from?
Having been treated exactly the same way as Mike Brown, I wasn't
surprised what they did to our record appearance maker either.

Basil Lambert and me were organising a museum to coincide with
the 150th Anniversary. We were hoping for it to be sponsored by
Emirates. We were in at the start of the new stand development,
requested and were promised a room by Ellis. He then went back
on the agreement and ultimately blocked it by refusing to let us
speak to Emirates. As a result and under the "captaincy" of the
current historian, nothing was done.

It does seem very strange that the one person who is an obvious
shoe-in for the heritage quins site is left on the outside yet
again. I hope they reach out to you RleQuin, but not holding my
breath.
