Expected rotation but 14 personnel changes to the 15 is far too
many, plus a positional change for Green.
Personally would have rather pushed to win the Challenge Cup and
missed out on top 4. We aren’t at a stage to beat Exeter or
Bristol in a final but we’re the form team in the challenge cup,
       and silverware is important.

       it's effectively a 2nd XV selection. Like QP, I'm a bit
disappointed that we're not putting out a full strength side and
see how far we can go in the competition. I appreciate it's a
congested season and you can't put out first choice every week,
but this selection does smack of surrender, and solely
prioritising a premiership campaign when I don't believe we can
beat a full strength Exeter or Bristol this year is strange.
Maybe it's more financially lucrative to finish 3rd/4th in the
Prem than win the Challenge Cup ?

       I'd say it's effectively worse than a 2nd XV selection. 3rd
choice props, 3rd choice locks, 3rd choice 12, Northmore and
       Green both playing "new" roles.

Yeah I'd agree actually. I think we'll struggle at scrum time
with that front row. Hopefully Collier's "rest" brings him back
looking strong. Apart from that there's no players in the
starting XV I'd say I was worried about, and it's been a long
time since I've been able to say that about a Quins second
       string side.

Very weak side. Botta is dreadful and we just seem to have a
very light weight feel. Is lynagh injured? As him at 14 would of
made more sense than trying a centre out

Very interesting selection, generally 2nd, 3rd or even 4th
choice in some positions. Front row is a particular concern and
as has already been said, Garcia Botta is utterly dreadful, he's
a penalty magnet for both his indiscipline and his poor
srummaging. Elia has his moments too but at least he does offer
something around the park. Collier is a strange one, he showed
so much promise early on, being technically better than Sinkler
but not progressing as well. Hoping he is fully recovered from
his latest injury and can work his way up the pecking order.
Otherwise, I think the selection is a good indicator to the
depth of the squad which is looking better than it has done for
       some time

In a season with no A league/Prem Cup, I love this selection.
I'll go out on a limb and actually back that team to upset
Ulster. I reckon Flannery will be firing this group right up -
what do they have to lose?
Northmore on the wing could unlock the Marchant/Northmore
selection headache if he goes well. Or at the very least gives
us another option. Can't wait to see Lasike bouncing players off
again and looking forward to seeing Green at 15. Herron and
Earle both have a lot to prove and Steele getting a start at 9
       is exactly what he needs.
In the forwards, I suspect Botta and Collier have been tasked
with focusing entirely on setting a scrum platform, nothing too
flashy in the loose. Let's see if Elia has been working night
and day on his darts - he's against the ropes so hopefully this
is the game he comes out swinging. Glimpse of our possible
future at 4 and 5 and back row has a nice balance to it if
Lawday can hit his straps in terms of carrying.
Apart from anything, this is how you create competition for
positions and push the "first choicers". I'm looking forward to
seeing how these 2nd and 3rd in line players acquit themselves.
Think the optimism of recent months has got to my head...

Overall I’m disappointed. Not in the individual selections or
rotation, but in the wholesale changes. It make the game
meaningless, so many new combo’s and inexperienced players in
one go, will give very little chance for anyone to shine.
I’d like to see Herron given some game, with DC and Andre. Can
he be the back up we need?
Green at full back, great, but it would show more if he had
experienced players in the back 3 with him.
       Ditto for Kenningham.
I don’t see why they are starting Elia. When Musk and Riley
       should be playing.
What’s the point of putting Northmore on the wing?
However on the positive side. It’s not a bad team. Just wish
they had all had a little more game time prior.
