RUW- Sinckler’s last try...
DIR By: quins4life

Right at the end of this week’s pod, Care said that Sinckler
admitted that he was nowhere near the line for the last try and
didn’t score. When you think of how a lot of players have said
they didn’t score in recent weeks when held up over the line,
this is incredibly disappointing to hear Sinckler admitted this
post game, especially as a ex-Quin. I’m also wondering how and
why the AR was so convinced he saw the ball down over the
line....

The AR on that side was baffling throughout the game. That
"taken out" call on Brown was one of the weirdest things I'd
seen for a while.

(I was considering going with "well, that's typical of how
mentally weak Quins are that they conceded a try that wasn't
even on the line" but I figured it would sound petty :) )

The Premiership needs to bring in the captain's challenge
they're trying in Super Rugby.
Even if the cameras showed nothing useful for that try it would
have made it an awful lot more palatable to see it be fully
checked. I know the TMO had a look in the background, but that's
not the same as a full review.

That wasn't even remotely close was it? Mike was stood about a
yard in touch when he caught it. Dreadful decision.

Very poor gamesmanship
To admit it publicly surely raises the question of whether the
result should be reversed?
Bringing the game into disrepute etc

No wonder he had that big grin on his face as he walked back.

While its frustrating I don't blame a player for not telling the
ref they didn't ground the ball. It's the job of Ref, ARs and
TMO and as has been stated that AR was pretty useless all game.

Nah. Also he didn't admit it publicly, he admitted it to a mate
who then announced it.
It's done, it's over, we wuz robbed, no blame attached to
Sinckler. It's like walking in cricket - great if you do it, but
it's up to the umpire to make the decision. Seen plenty of tries
scored by teams I support when the player actually lost control
of the ball, etc.
The AR obviously and clearly lied about seeing the grounding and
given his other errors I suspect he might quietly get binned off
for a while, or be asked to do some more training. That's all
that'll happen, and it's all that should happen.

"We've got a clear try from the touch judge" said the ref. Why
do they insist on saying things are clear when they are not? It
undermines their credibility so much more than if they said that
they believe or think it's a try.
