Results Today / The Run In
   DIR By: brfc_quin

       Well, what a day!
As others have said that was gutting, but we have come along way
in a short period of time. Despite possible questions remaining
about mental weakness, especially at the death.
Just a shame, all other results went against us
       today as well!
London Irish get a bonus point win against Bath, Saints thrash
Worcester with a bonus point win and Sale score very late to
       defeat Wasps (without a bonus)
We slip to 4th, and have both Saints and Irish not far behind.
       The games remaining are
       Worcester - home
       Irish - away
       Wasps - home
       Tigers - away
       Bath - home
       Sale - away
       Newcastle - home
The away games against Irish and Sale could be very significant!
It could well go right down to the last game at home v
       Newcastle!

We should be able to win every one of those games. I'm sure we
won't, but 4 home and one away win should be enough for top 4.
Then go out and get revenge against Bristol or Exeter

For the first time in years I'm not worried about any of those
       matches.

Agreed. We’re certainly capable of winning all of them. I doubt
we will, but that’s not slight on the team. 4/5 out of the 7 is
       definitely realistic on recent form.

Looking at other results today, Saracens are possibly slipping
into a pit from which they may struggle to escape from.

I thought the results today helped Saracens?

Thanks brfc, definitely a better run in than Exeter and Sale and
hopefully this gutting loss will galvanise them into really
       seeing what is possible.
Question is, do we prioritise this over Europe and go all out?
With Steele and Lang back, we'll be able to rest Care & Smith
and Ester if needed and not lose as much go forward as we do
with Landajo and Herron. Harsh on Herron I know as he hasn't
       really had a proper run.

I think the key problem for us is the reliance on Marcus and
Danny. If those 2 get injured we're a totally different team.
Fingers crossed we can keep all our key players fit

Our priority has to be the league. The European games are great
and we should absolutely push on both fronts next season, but
things are in a real state of flux at the moment and a strong
top 4 finish would be huge for us.
On another note, post match thoughts from Marler and Care:

If we're serious and actually hopeful then we should be winning
       the following:
Worcester - home - Must Win
Irish - away - Must Win
Wasps - home - Win pls
Tigers - away - Must Win
Bath - home - Tough Fixture - Win pls
Sale - away - Tough Fixture
Newcastle - home - Must win
Bath are on the resurge at the moment - quite like us.
Enya is always tough and it could be a shoot out for top 4....
If we qualify - then we deserve it and can enjoy it. We can
match up against anyone on their day.
Injuries need to be managed, rotation needs to be maintained.
Fun problems - and if we miss it - oh well... nice to be in the
       mix for a change.
