I'd put them on the bench and bring them on no earlier than,
say, 60 minutes. Then they get some game time.

I'd like to see Herron given a start with a strong team around
him.
Steele should be back from 6N.
I want to see more of Kenningham - possibly from the bench

What is the point of trying to get into a european competition
spot if all we do when we get it, is treat it as an
inconvienience? ??? I think the aim should be to endeavour to
win every game and see where it takes us.
This team is good enough to compete.

It's a really difficult call. I am quite split, I can see both
sides. However, I do fall on the side of thinking we should go
for it with a blend of the first team and the wider squad.
While I appreciate that some people need a rest, I think a
bigger problem is losing match sharpness by not playing. This is
a trophy that we can win, especially if we get past Ulster,
who appear to be the strongest other team.
It was a shame to miss out on winning the Prem Cup last season
but winning the Challenge Cup is a more significant step on our
journey. Not that it is an exact science but winning in 2011
gave us a platform and a winning mentality to help us win the
league in 2012. Similarly, Briz won the Challenge Cup last year
and it was a mark of their progress that they have built on this
season.
While I want us to win the league (of course), I think we should
look to win in Europe too!

We're in the Challenge Cup. You don't try to get into that: you
get there by being too good to be relegated but not good enough
for the big boy's cup.

But this is the cup in which we are already record holders.
We're just cannon fodder in the European Cup, but with the right
sort of man/game management we could win this. We're probably
more likely to win this piece of silverware than the
premiership. Let's go for it.

1 Els

...and give them the freedom to go for it. This is a chance for
some others to throw their hat in the ring and keep competition
for places rising. Still all the types of firepower you want to
see in that backline and lay down the gauntlet to that pack, get
them frothing at the mouth. Each player on the bench brings
impact.

I like this selection. It's similar to my own thinking - the
game is going to be won/lost up front, so start with a good
front row, and have an even better front row on the bench.
Marler etc will be able to do some tactical analysis as they
watch the game.
Some years ago, I remember NEv being on the bench and he was
obviously analysing the game. He came on and almost immediately
scored a try. He then did a High Five with a young lad in the
south stand. I don't remember which game though.

I agree with this. We've seen that these guys can deliver in a
largely first choice team. Now lets see if they can deliver as
a team.
