Just so annoying. We've also been screwed by dreadful decisions
at the death, 3rd game in quick succession (I thought the ref
was pretty flawless today before that) but there appears to be
no will to be playing on the opposition half at the end of the
game. Its the rugby equivalent of parking the bus, and it
doesn't work. We kicked really well all day, just pin them back.

I'd say the vast majority of those were forced errors. We
constantly harried them. They made big metres running it out
from the back but rarely from midfield. If we'd held on, not a
single person would've said that was a lucky win - we'd been
tactically superior and forced them into a heap of mistakes
through defensive and territorial pressure.

Agreed jammy. But I agree with qp that it was a capitulation as
well, regardless of poor reffing.

Rodney is right re Care making a poor decision not to ping it
into the corner on 77 minutes. If they then run 90 metres and
score a worldie, fair play to them but we didn't need to be
under that pressure at the end.
The more experienced should show leadership and a calm head.
Brainless stuff but I'd have taken that scoreline before the
match. This hurts more than the Exeter one though, much more.

I mean he gifted them the possession, field position, and time
to score the try (that saw Marchant binned as well). If he or
his dangerously useless AR had called the knock-on, there simply
would not have been the time for Bristol to win that game.
Yes, I agree Dombrandt's soft carry was a poor option. But Quins
did little wrong except try to run the clock down - which teams
still do very effectively, and if we'd kicked it away and they'd
run it back and scored, QP would be all over the board slagging
off our inability to make the right decision. After all, he's
correctly noted that their back 3 was making a lot of metres,
and we were lacking our best defensive back. Aside from that,
it's two very difficult to defend mauls, one of which when we're
down a man.

That was incredibly frustrating, game looked to be almost won.
Not sure how the Thomas knock on wasn't spotted but that
happens. Switched of for the last part of the game but let's not
forget it looked like Quins were in free fall in January and are
now pushing for the playoffs.
Let's just hope Quins make it to the semi final and get payback
on either Bristol or Exeter.

What are you on a about capitulation? Rubbish! Capitulation is
rolling over and accepting you’ve lost.
We absolutely did not do that. We were about 3mins and really
one bad gift of a penalty away from winning that. A bit more
accuracy from Dombrandt and we win that game,

I didn't mention 'in at the side'. And you should never get
pinged for holding on when you're trying to run down the clock.
You should have your support players on your hip.

I suspect full-strength Bristol and full-strength Exeter are too
good for Quins. And honestly, that's fine. As you say, we were
in freefall, and we've been pretty mediocre for years. I'm very
happy with our incredible improvement, and going toe-to-toe with
teams like this is a great sight.

Well at least Dombrandt didn't get stripped by the two smallest
players on the pitch. Based on today Dombrandt would have ahead
of Earl.
