That’s worse than Botica’s but I guess they just thought about a
       fourth try

Cracking game of rugby though. Scotland have been very good in
       the 6 Nations

Incredible. What was he thinking. Bonus point try wouldn't have
       mattered.

I was more alarmed by the Russell red card for a fend to the
chest/throat whilst attacking. I know Barnes had to apply the
laws but surely the answer is to make the tackler responsible
for the extent of the sanction when defending ? Dulin chose to
tackle high and paid the consequences - if he'd gone for the
ankles there would have been no infringement. To punish the
attacker for failing to anticipate the height of the defender
       doesn't seem right to me.

It did look harsh as the initial impact appeared to be on
Dulin's upper shoulder, but slid up, but it was the TMO's call
that got him the red card, no (rather than Barnes)?

It is incredibly harsh but you can't lead with an arm when going
into contact but I thought the point of the law change was to
force the defenders to change their tackle technique and force
them to go lower. Law makers may need to re look at this aspect

But Dulin didn't do anything wrong. He tried to wrap him and
stop him shipping the ball on. I don't see any need to
       discourage that sort of tackle.

If he had his hand out it would have been legal. It is leading
with the elbow they want to stamp out.

Yeah, you can't just shove your forearm into someone's throat
like that. Risking serious injury. No surprise Dulin found it
hard to breathe for a bit.
Rougerie was in hospital for 3 months and had several operations
on his windpipe thanks to a similar act by Phil Greening.
