Injuries / Bristol

As many have said, next week we travel to Ashton Gate as
underdogs. However, do people think we’ll pick a full strength
side or rotate a little like we have over the last couple of
weeks?
Do we have any news on the injury picked up by Lewiess at Exeter
and/or whether we picked up any injuries yesterday v Glos? Mike
Brown and Scott Baldwin both seemed in pain during the second
half but both finished the game so hopefully both are ok but
James Chilsholm definitely looked like he may be out for a few
weeks when he came off.

I think we'll go full strength and do everything possible to
finish top 2. I hope so anyway.

Think Chis was just limping off so and stayed on the subs bench
so hopefully nothing too serious. Lawday made an impact from the
bench so could start with Chis on the bench next week. Thought
Lamb and Symons worked well yesterday so if Lewies isn’t 100%
I’d rather give him the week off.

I would be definitely going as strong as possible for Bristol.
If we are going to reach the top 4, it’ll likely mean we face
one of Bristol or Exeter so we need to know we can beat them. I
think we can take confidence from performance last week at
Exeter and our past games vs them that we could pull it off, but
Bristol we could do with a good performance. They will certainly
be targeting the game. I would be rotating during the European
weeks slightly if anything. Don’t forget it’s not unlikely we
could lose vs Ulster and get a week off the week after that L16
game. I think the bench will be the interesting selections and
what we do with marchant and Northmore.
I’d go:
Marler
Baldwin
Louw
Lewies (fingers crossed he’s fit)
Symons
Chisholm (Lawday if Chis is unfit)
Evans
Dombrandt
Care
Smith
Marchant (I’d go marchant for kick chase and the strength
Bristol have out wide)
Esterhuizen
Northmore
Green- he’s a nailed on starter for me now
Brown
Bench:
Elia- I thought Gray was pretty average, Elia adds more impact
Els- thought he didn’t do himself many favours, looked slow and
off the pace in the loose.
Kerrod
Dino Lamb- harsh on Young but got to show faith to those
sticking around
Lawday/Kenningham- depending on Chisholm’s fitness
Steele
Lang
Murley

I suspect Steele and Lang will both be retained by Scotland,
even if Lang doesn’t make the 23 he’s likely to be a travelling
reserve for Friday night in Paris.

I pretty much agree.
I would, however, keep Murley on the wing as I would prefer to
have a specialist in each position. I think it will be a toss up
between Marchant and Northmore for the 13 shirt. I would be
happy with either. Given Northmore's brace of tries yesterday he
might get the nod. It might send a message that you can play
your way into the team. However, either player is terrific. One
over the other presents no weakness.
I think Steele and Lang will be with Scotland on Friday, so I
would expect to see Landajo and Herron on the bench.

Pretty sure they will go full power or best 23 available for
Bristol and then in Europe rest players. If you look at player
minutes generally most players have had some time off in past
6-8 weeks.
Hope for Europe we see players like Kenningham, White, Lynach,
Campo etc. As it stands all energy in League. If we keep this
form going, we will stand a good chance

Umm why can we not achieve both the Challenge Cup and the
Premiership?

Just repeating what the club have said about selection for
Europe. Think Europe it may not even happen

Remember we have an extra day off compared to Bris and I'm not
sure returning Internationals will go straight into their team
in every position. I really think we go full strength, it's
winnable.
I think Andre will cause them some issues in the midfield and I
can't wait to see Kyle against Marler if they both play.
Could be a fantastic game.
