I would, I don't think Furlong is all that these days and Mako
has always been a weak scrummager.
Eddie has to carry the can for this nonsense approach and while
he's now talking about refreshing the squad he said the same
after the world cup. No one would have been upset if he'd chosen
to use this 6N to have a proper look at the form players in
English rugby but instead he went full Eddie, picked all his
Saracens buddies despite everything suggesting it was a terrible
idea, ignored the claims of the majority of the form players,
excluded the premiership and European player of the year because
he doesn't fit Eddie's style of rugby, then comprehensively
proved his style of rugby has no future.
I'm sure a few players will carry the can. I don't expect it to
be the Vunipolas or Farrell or Daly. I expect it to be Wilson
and Ford and perhaps May and hopefully the empty shirt Ewels.
Anything but his favourites. And the style will not change to
accommodate the best players in the league.

I really hope you are wrong. Dropping someone like Farrell a
player who is no doubt international standard but has no
realistic thought or chance of being dropped by Jones.
The nuclear option would be to drop Farrell, at least for a few
games. He needs to give younger players there head in key
       positions such as 8, 9, 10, 12 and 15.
How Charlie Ewels gets anywhere near the squad let alone the
team amazes me. He is a whole hearted player who does some
basics well. However he is very limited in his all court game.

Never mind the whole Sam Simmonds debate, what about Danny Care
and Mike Brown? Both in immense form. Brown may be better than
       ever.

Yes, but if you're going to play knackered old warhorses like
the Vunipolas, at least play ones that are in form.

I'm old fashioned ht and believe in putting out your very best
side for each game as it comes along. A simple philosophy but
really hard to argue with. Also I believe in, "if you're good
enough you're old enough".. EJ and his Merry Men have ample time
scouting and watching live games and video's followed by
elongated Training Camps to try things out. I'm not sure EJ gets
it about the Home Competitions tbh. He seems totally focused on
the RWC and his own cv.

Everyone knows it was wrong to include players that were not
playing competitively, how can you judge players form and
capabilities if not watching them at the highest level or in
fact just playing. The impact of not playing a specialist full
back has cost us tries, which at test level is too damaging.
The effect of covid meant that this year's competition was
always going to be vastly different and if we were truly trying
to develop a squad, this year was the to do it. We have players
who are demonstrating thier ability and it should have allowed
for the squad development we were told was going to happen. This
year we could take a poor result if the player pool were
expanded and tested. To see such a stale performance at the end
of the competition was incredible, especially from a team that
has played and trained together for so long.
