When we talk about the improvements to the team, how they play
better together now, I wonder if we've not been looking in the
wrong direction saying it's the coaches influence since Gustard
left. Also in the mix is this guy Owen Eastwood

who specialises in
creating the optimum environment for making teams thrive. Is his
input to the coaches/team the reason we seem to be on an upward
curve now?

I hope the club, assign a guy to oversee the current group. To
challenge, bring new ideas and to provide a sounding board.
It’s a very CoS role, but it’s what is required.
The current setup requires the steady hand on the tiller, happy
with Millward, or similar.
It doesn’t need to be a name, we don’t want a guy that changes
the current set up, but adds to it.
Complement, not change.
And accept that the current squad and coaching group are PG’s.
He was doing some things right, in the building, but things move
on and this current run is great, but tougher times ahead await.
Look at Exeter, they were the second best team for a good few
years, hard noses were required to keep building. This is year
1, project zero.

A bit like Jones not being available for England a few years
back having just signed a deal.

That was an April Fool's joke, said he re-signed until 2065

from Connacht?

I don’t see Robertson coming, he’s holding for Kiwis or if not
England. If both of those fail we have a chance. He want to
replace Foster and take Kiwis to 2023 RWC.

Franck Azema is leaving Clermont this season - the rumour is
he’s off to Montpellier but if he could be tempted to have a few
seasons in London that could be an excellent bit of business

The Kiwis aren't really prone to making sudden decisions on
their head coach. Foster'll be in place for a while yet.

You may well be correct, although Foster is due for renewal and
they’ve not been great under him. They also risk losing
Robertson to NH for RWC and beyond if they want him now is the
time.
But I do hope you’re correct and he comes to us.
